February 19, 201511 yr Author Commercial Member BTW. Nice shot of the P3D-Version. Is the NGX heavy on VAS like the 777? Haven't looked, or run into problems. It's still the NGX, though, and it's not like we heaped a whole bunch of features into it that would consume more VAS. Kyle what are the average fps? I won't answer that directly because FPS is so highly dependent on the user's system and settings. That being said, I get about the same performance as I do with FSX, even with higher settings in P3D. approximate release time in order of magnitude? One International Standard Soon Unit. February 19, 201511 yr EPIC(S)! Seriously have to consider now to switch to P3D. Great work, PMDG! Regards, Harm Swinkels

February 19, 201511 yr I had the 777 up for a quick flight the other day and the "shadow play" was in full effect. I happened to be head-down looking at the pedestal when it entered into a turn and sunlight peered into the cockpit and just cast itself across the radios, knobs, switches, and other elements. The effect was so amazingly immersive... I just stopped and watched the light dance across the console. A screenshot couldn't do it justice - it needs to be seen in motion to be truly appreciated. A moment later the turn was complete and the cockpit was back in shadow, and it was back to the flight tasks at hand. I cannot wait for a similar experience with the 737. -Greg G.
February 19, 201511 yr Is it just me or are the reflections/dirt on the screens gone? I'm guessing its the angle Kyle took the picture at. I've noticed that the dust/dirt only appears when you look a certain way.
February 19, 201511 yr I would be quite happy to see the dirt disappear for the P3D version.....but not if it delays release  Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
February 19, 201511 yr That looks very promising indeed! I will most likely purchase this and might even make that switch to P3D! What I am wondering; did PMDG also update/upgrade the NGX with the screen drawing thing (is there a name for it? )? For example: on the real plane the DEU's take a while to draw the displayed images on the DU's, which the PMDG 777 does very nicely. Whereas when you switch your ND mode on the current (FSX) version it is instant. Does anyone know? It's a small thing but to me a great detail!
February 19, 201511 yr Do the shadows also cause glare on the panels like PFD, ND etc? Thanks,Pankaj Dekate
February 19, 201511 yr Shadows? That's a default feature in X-Plane .... -_- And is not default in P3D ? Jason Cardeira
February 19, 201511 yr What about the other tests? NGX is behaving well and as expected on P3D 2.5? Fábio Magnoni
February 19, 201511 yr Could you possibly upload a video with the shadows? As one user already mentioned, a picture doesn't show it to its full extent Would highly appreciate that... Alan Wudpick
February 19, 201511 yr Could you possibly upload a video with the shadows? If you don't have Prepar3D v2.x, the cockpit shadows are something that needs to be seen to be believed. I know this isn't the PMDG 737NGX in Prepar3D, but take a look at this video and scroll up to the 5:30 mark for the general effect. Yes, it's a GA aircraft, but imagine the same quality of effect dancing across your Boeing cockpit.... (*it actually might look better on a big bird given the number of switches and knobs which will cast shadows...) -Greg
February 19, 201511 yr So how long for the fsx and fsx steam version of this new service pack 1d? Ashley Jones
