May 2, 201511 yr Ray, are those Orbx HD Trees? Thats a real picture - no carenado paint that looks like that also you can see benches in the distance - ok I give up this aircraft is unflyable nothing on the flight guidance panel works - oh well Rich Sennett
May 2, 201511 yr You need to use a decompiler and that said how would you recompile it ? not messing with this as the program has to run from a cmd - all set Dont bother you will mess something up - have to wait ...Richard, what part can I mess up that's not already a mess ? aero
May 2, 201511 yr ...Richard, what part can I mess up that's not already a mess ? aero Good one Aero - I am talking about my system not the Hawker - you have to run the program to manipulate the .spb file and it runs from command prompt new pc build not going to take a chance if it was something like a zip program I wouldn't care but keep in mind it has to be recompiled also Oh and probably not giong to help much anyway - lots to fix on the bird Rich Sennett
May 2, 201511 yr ... when in level flight with - ALT HOLD ON - and I start to preselect an altitude via the rotary the plane immediately starts climbing or descending.... surely the plane should fly level until a climb/descent - MODE - (be that PITCH, VS or FLC) is selected or if the - ALT HOLD - is released for manual climb/descent. (also , of course GS intercept) aero This autopilot autoselects Pitch mode as soon as the Altitude preset is changed. You can then use the Pitch wheel (using the mouse wheel) to adjust pitch/vertical speed. In the real airplane, Pitch mode is not engaged until the Pitch Wheel is moved. Bert
May 2, 201511 yr ... is that correct behaviour ? e.g. I want to climb in 10 miles as per ATC instruction I dial in the new altitude in anticipation of selecting my MODE of climb... when, after 10 miles, I would press the VS button and set climb rate or press the FLC button and set climb speed or (turn the PITCH thumbwheel to set pitch up ???) but the plane immediately starts climbing as soon as I start rotating the ALT select. Is this -auto select- PITCH mode the way it happens in real Hawker 850xp.... aero I would have thought it should work much like the Flight 1 Mustang does.... ahhh just read the last part of your post again... it's Carenado who haven't modelled the real plane correctly Thanks for explanation Bert
May 2, 201511 yr ... is that correct behaviour ? Definitely not. In the real unit, turning the altitude selector would have no effect on the vertical mode. Carenado have just lost the plot with this AP ! Pitch mode would only be engaged if :- - Another active vertical mode (eg FLC or VS) was deselected - The autopilot was engaged with no other vertical mode selected - As Bert said, the pitch wheel was moved.
May 2, 201511 yr I believe you can fix that immediate climb/descend behavior by going into the aircraft.cfg file under [Autopilot] and look for something like Vertical speed default=something. Make something 0 and it may correct that behavior. I don't have this bird yet (I'm waiting for you guys to fix it) but I have done this on other aircraft.
May 2, 201511 yr So sad... Was wondering if I should purchase this... but I guess, I'll pass, after reading this so far Best regards,--Anders Bermann-- ____________________Scandinavian VAPilot-ID: SAS2471

This is the desktop image on the left monitor in the triple setup. Not that different than the Carenado edition. Btw. Orbx Trees HD is on sale all month at FSS. Good exchange rate to USD. May 2, 201511 yr Thanks for the insights on this Hawker guys! Carenado is notorious for needing quick & early SP1 releases. Knowing that, I waited. Disappointing to see to comments here because they usually do a good job fixing the major issues with their SP1 releases. However, I rarely ever see a release of an SP2 or patch otherwise. I'll keep an eye on this aircraft to improve with further releases. I'd like to think they will. For now, my credit card stays in my wallet. May 2, 201511 yr Moderator You need to use a decompiler and that said how would you recompile it ? not messing with this as the program has to run from a cmd - all set You don't need to "recompile it". An ".spb" file is nothing more nor less than an FSX XML syntax set of gauge files that have been "compiled" into a shape-prop-binary format... ...the reason being that in theory spb files should be executed faster since the sim doesn't have to parse the XML script, as it is already parsed! However in reality, the time saved is truly miniscule, being less than two seconds during the initial panel load. Now all that said, there is a compiler for spb included in the FSX SDK. Fr.
