June 16, 201510 yr Shares the same autopilot as the Cherokee. I believe thats a "hands on" unit so a bit of work and maintenance needed there ZORAN
June 16, 201510 yr I would also recommend the C182 over the C172. Somehow, the a2a C172 did not turn out as well as either the Cherokee or C182 IMHO.. Bert

June 16, 201510 yr On what basis Bert? To me, the controls never felt right, and the airplane lacks the personality that both the Cherokee and C182 offer. Maybe that is true to life, but I have uninstalled my copy. Bert
June 16, 201510 yr It is true to life - the 172 has all the character of a whitewashed wall, but that's how it has become the best selling aircraft in history. But agree with Bert, once you have the 182, the 172 gets parked in the hangar. It's not its fault, nor A2A's !
June 16, 201510 yr The 172 was my first A2A aircraft purchase, and while I was initially very taken with the A2A feature set, the more I flew it, the more wrong it felt, at least on my setup, and from my admittedly limited real world experience with the plane - but I took another chance on the their 182, and I am quite pleased with it (YMMV), though I am more of a RealAir fan, truth be told...

Interesting - I was just considering this as I'm in 172s again. Good heads up. H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
June 16, 201510 yr Andrew don't let me and Bert dissuade you though hehe... A2A is a good company - worth supporting. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
June 16, 201510 yr The 'blandness' of the 172 is a real life thing, not A2A. I have about 200hrs in Skyhawks, I actually preferred the older generation 172s with funky beat up interiors, they had character tho. Cessna's new line (Piper's too) all have a sterile feel to them. THat being said, some talented painters have created some wonderful vintage interiors for both the A2A C172 C182. This Comanche is going to be tops tho, so many beautiful 50s-60s schemes to be painted, I know I have said it alot, but it really does have the feel of sitting in a vintage muscle car. As long as it flies fairly close to RW, it's fine... two RW 172s aren't going to fly exactly the same, either... [but I fly a Warrior more... ] H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g

June 16, 201510 yr I wish they'd do the 400hp version!!! Indeed! Compare that to another certain developer with a Cessna 406 in the works, of which the modelling seems well underway. And then they post on their Facebookpage if anyone knows someone with access to a 406... :rolleyes:I wish them luck with that been around avation my entire life and have never even heard of the 406.
