It is always funny to watch you guys talking about us in the 3rd person like we aren't in the room.  :-p

(Note: The above comment is not intended to confirm or deny any of the rumors, innuendo, wild-guesses, or just plain old conjecture present in this thread- except for that one guy who guessed correctly, but this thread will not confirm which guy that was...)

Yes! At last! The Woodpidgeon! Everything else was guessed more then once but there is only one reference to the Woodpidgeon, and RSR said the *one* guy that guessed correctly. That means it must be the Woodpidgeon!

Brilliant! Will it have wing flex? Are you sure those cockpit dimensions are correct, that screen looks a little high. My uncles brother-in-law dated a girl whose grandfather knew a man whose brother saw one once so if you have any technical questions, I will be happy to help. Will it be FS9 compatible?

Paul Smith.

This ill be interesting to see evolve into an official statement sometime soon. I don't mind an "old" airliner.. But a 787 is something fancy.. Too computerised maybe.

Yeah, we can finally use the fish eye feature wide screen views can give us.. Seeing as their eyes are in the side ;)

Given that PMDG products release about 12-15 post RW rollout, my guess is that the 787 is premature. The 707 was produced until 79 and was Boeing's first modern jet airliner. With some love going in the direction of older aircraft by PMDG as well as other developers, and a love of four engine aircraft by "someone in the room", it's at least plausible.

oh hello, Robert!

James McLees

Let's be fair and assume that PMDG want's to maintain an active up-to-date fleet so while it would be nice for PMDG to develop a 787 (probably will be the "Holy Grail" of flight sim aircraft), it would benefit them to do so and give QualityWings some stiff competition.  It wouldn't be the first time that a flight sim dev puts out an aircraft already doen by others.  The rivalry of Captainsim and Qualitywings was going strong at one time with the B777 & B757.  If PMDG's relationship with Boeing is as strong as we have seen, a 787 would solidify their position as top devs.  Just my two cents.

RSR: [...] We will be hard at work wrapping up our first major airliner for X-Plane.

emphasis on 'major'. is the DC-6 a 'major' airliner?...hmmmm!

The DC-6 is what he's referring to, and yes:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Douglas_DC-6_operators

Pan Am alone had 49 of them. For comparison, United has 55 777-200ERs, and I think we'd all agree that UAL is a major operator of that major airliner. With a production run of 704, I'd say it was a pretty major type, especially considering the number of DC-3s built was 607, and I don't think many would question its 'legend' status. I think the 3 is just more recognizable.

I mean, really...it's an icon of an era.

I spent last night with a PMDG beta tester's girlfriend, so now I know exactly type and variants  (and some more most interesting details, not limited to :P, but including the upcoming 7_7 project) ... but my post, of course, will not reveal which tester/which one of his girlfriends  /which aircraft type that was!!!

That's why she wasn't responding to my texts last night?

...man...well, I guess it's time to find a new one.  :P

Kyle, I've just started to receive PMs from people who took my previous post seriously. Maybe now you will get PMs, too, from girls who took your reply the same way.

I might be able to set you up if you tell me what the 7_7 project is

Seriously, I don't really care what the next project is as long as we also get it for X-Plane.

RSR told you all that "Just one guy got it right".

He can't be more revealing than that.  Just scroll back to find it. ;-)
