Wow, that was a lot of price talk ha!

Biggest take away so far for me on the Concorde-X 1.3 is it WILL OOM if you run it higher than 1920x1080... on my 34" 3440x1440 monitor it won't even load the tutorial flight using stock P3Dv3.1 scenery, no traffic, no weather.

Not sure how I feel about this quite yet, as it's quite a step back and pain in the rear having to drop my desktop resolution down and blur everything or letterbox it.... no other addon has this limitation.  It does load and run fine when I do this, but that's asking a lot.

Additionally, being a new customer to FlightSimLabs, I am shocked how fast they delete posts/threads from their own forums.  This was all discussed over there, first by Rob and then I got involved as I was troubleshooting this myself; had some good info in the threads, and I was actually the reason they updated the store page with the 1920x1080 limitation.  I wake up this morning, and a multiple page thread was deleted and gone... I was hoping to read some more insight, etc, but instead just deleted.  I understand those are their forums, but sure not used to that.... and even in my short time over there I've seen it happen several times.

Alas, back to the bird, still tinkering and trying to learn systems, and ultimately if it's worth the time or not now knowing the resolution limitations and if I can find a workable solution.

Thanks for this Information. If they don't offer a meaningful explanation for this, I will certainly not buy the Airbus. In this price range I expect superior support not this kind of "problem handling"...

Gents-

we don't "delete posts" to hide facts. We do it to keep the signal-to-noise ratio low. Obviously, if you want to see conspiracies everywhere, you will (Carlito, you are a prime example of that in your recent posts in this thread here, where you tried to convince everyone what a shoddy job we do with our business model and how we'd be better served if we followed all YOU had to suggest on the matter).

The truth is, we are on the computer 14-16 hours per day, helping people who have issues and trying our best to fix problems that are there because the complexity of supporting five different simulation platforms on computer hardware that has upwards of a few million possible combinations (CPUs range from very old to brand new, graphics cards with almost no memory to those with TONS of memory etc), not to mention how many different operating system combinations (locales, versions etc).

In the meantime, I provide updated information on status almost daily and we have fixed three significant bugs that surfaced within 24-48 hours of release, two of them we could never have detected since we didn't have a beta team that was numbering in the thousands (the one bug that had to do with older generation AMD cpus was so esoteric, we had to ask a customer to install Visual Studio and let us run debug sessions on their end - as it turns out, one of the newest 3D libraries we used had been compiled with modern CPU SSE4.2 extensions and a single assembly op-code would crash on those older AMD cpus... this was done on a Saturday morning when "normal people" were enjoying their weekend).

I keep reminding our staff that when we retire, we'll write software for Playstation - a SINGLE platform with a SINGLE hardware / OS combination :).

Allen,

I hope you can find a workable solution. Running in windowed mode at 1920x1080 will be unusual but I'm sure you'll soon adapt. It's a superb aircraft. The existence of the FE panel and all the 2D ones required to support it means the max resolution is limited. Unavoidable in a 32-bit application I'm afraid.

My thread about VAS problems and requesting a refund was deleted also.

i've been informed by email that i've been refunded a couple of days ago, but nothing has shown up on my credit card, but i'll wait a few more business days before i get back onto support, as i understand it might take a little while to come through.

Gents been looking forward to this plane for a while and been on the verge of buying all weekend , not arguing price it is what it is  and fed up with the debate on this thread. Can one of the devs answer this and I will be happy to buy .I am on prepar3d .  I have a triple head monitor each  on 1080p . EZDock, FTX base and EU . Vector will be disabled and all additional scenery's disabled.Autogen will be on low and 2048 textures no cloud shadows. Can I load at Aerosoft  Heathrow EGLL take off fly with ASN on . Save my flight midway so I can restart and offload my vas. Contrary to what many people say prepar 3.1 does not offload memory over the atlantic. Land at DRZEWIECKI DESIGN JFK . If this is unachievable then its a pass from. Can achieve this easily with  IFly 747 which is a Vas monster.

We do NOT provide refunds for electronic purchases and this is mentioned in our purchase page.

We refunded 2 customers who had purchased before we posted our note in the Concorde-X web page that that running the simulator at screen resolutions higher than 1920×1080 will cause significantly increased VAS memory requirements and it is NOT recommended. (If you guys are interested in a long-winded technical explanation, I will be happy to provide one - it has to do with having 43 2D panels each taking anywhere from 30% to 60-70% of the screen - if you do the math, the memory requirements of a 4K resolution are almost 2.5 times those of the normal 1920x1080, and 3 monitors at that resolution are 3*2.5 times those requirements).

You were one of the two customers refunded. If you want to be assured your refund is happening, check your order status on eSellerate after-sales support page.

We felt it was only fair, since we had not posted this note before you purchased.

Once we posted this notice, the thread became irrelevant (plus factually incorrect, as customers are now alerted ahead of time).

We've also deleted several other posts in threads, on topics that are no longer factually correct, as reading them would confuse other customers. We do this continuously, not just after new release of a product - it's part of the support process.

Forgive me therefore, if I don't continue feeding a discussion that suggests we're trying to scam anyone - instead, I invite all our customers to visit our forums and decide for themselves how much support we provide (you are actually enjoying your hobby on a Sunday, I am working to support our customers instead).

Well.

Yesterday I finished the tutorial flight from EGLL to KJFK. I am using FTX Global/Vector/England but have no additional scenery over the pond at KJFK. Taking off from EGLL did give me poorer performance compared to my other aircraft (CS / PMDG / Majestic et. cetera) but it quickly kept at my locked FPS. It was a blast flying this thing! The approach into KJFK was uneventful with no decrease in FPS. Very happy with this.

Then I thought I should do the return flight as well, so I just made a quick and dirty flight plan to see if I would be able to get her up in the air by just using the checklists from the flying manual. After a computer restart I started doing this. Takeoff from KJFK was nice. Excellent performance. I am really liking this aircraft.

However.

Approaching into EGLL something happens that I myself never have experienced before. My first ever OOM (one monitor at 1920x1200). I am really disappointed. A real bummer.

Loving the bird, but I have a feeling it will sit a lot in the hangar.

Yes this is something I have before on routes in to EGLL depending on runway star allocation hence I have allways restarted mid pond to lower the vas . Default London is very vas hungry and never fly in with ftx eng on . So may not be the concorde . Lefteris can you comment as developer on my earlier question . I am running a gtx 970 and screen is strectched over 3 monitors.

if you do the math, the memory requirements of a 4K resolution are almost 2.5 times those of the normal 1920x1080,

This is certainly incorrect, else none would be able to run anything in fsx/p3d @ 4k resolution.

My own testing (p3d v3.1) showed a 5% increase (150MB) in VAS when moving from 1080p to 1440p, so this is not the problem

When a set of paired down settings, no weather or Ai active opens up at 89% (1080p) or 94% (1440p) of the VAS red-line (4GB) - its all over.

i appreciate your comment, but don't agree the problem is because of higher res.

Richard-

as I said, come over to our forum where we can assist further. Here is hardly the place to offer support assistance.
