August 24, 20169 yr I'm not sure about this one. Try both and find which one you like better I have liked the high end one in the previous version. But this is the first time I have flown an Airbus and their FBW system. I enjoyed the higher end one more. A little more responsible and smooth. Just landed and going to try new version now. Thank you very much for making this AS Airbus so great! Will you bring the A318 the new FBW system too?

August 24, 20169 yr I've installed this, and here are a couple of points. Just observations really. Firstly, don't be an idiot like me - when I read the instruction to "back up your livery entries on the aircraft.cfg first", I wrongly assumed this meant only my custom liveries, that I've installed into the aircraft. Actually, this mod removed all liveries from the aircraft.cfg, including the default ones. No complaints - my mistake, Just mentioning it for other users to beware of. I needed to re-install the addons to rectify. So... I used the low end mods and if I'm honest, I found the differences very subtle at first. I had hoped that less sidestick movement on the elevator would be required on rotation - as that is where I have found the AS Airbuses FBW most unrealistic, compared to the Level D A320 sim I flew a year ago, for a Birthday treat  .... there still feels like there is too much rearward pressure required on the joystick, on rotation. But I was thinking - I wonder if this is because AS's V1 / VR values are too low? .... this would seem to have the same effect. So I am going to try increasing the VR value in the MCDU, by 5-6kts. On approach I noticed the difference a lot more - felt more responsive, and more of a sense of inertia. In my opinion, subtle changes, but definitely worth having. Thanks for working on this! August 24, 20169 yr I've got a little issue with the DES mode. It wants to pitch up and down, to the point where it gets pretty extreme! OP DES works just fine though. Anyone else have this issue? -Chris Crawford -ATP/MEL - B737 / B777 / B-727 / EMB-145 / LR-JET
August 24, 20169 yr I needed to re-install the addons to rectify. For future reference, you only have to copy the livery entries from the old aircraft.cfg and paste them into the one that's created with the installer. No need to copy the texture folders out or reinstall the add-on. Ryan

I'm sorry about what happened with your liveries. I'll make it more clear in future updates. During the rotation, most influence (besides having the right speeds set) has the pitch trim. Make sure this one is ready with the correct value as well. Normally, you need to place the pointer on the horizontal cue on the PFD on Vr. The transition between ground and normal modes is almost none in the Aerosoft Airbus. It's very difficult to juggle with the given parameters in order to both maintain appropriate behavior during the important phases and not destroy the autopilot or other features. Implementing absent modes would need a cooperation with the original coder. Many thanks for your report! I've got a little issue with the DES mode. It wants to pitch up and down, to the point where it gets pretty extreme! OP DES works just fine though. Anyone else have this issue? I have one more report of the problem. Although, i don't have it, i'll definitely investigate further. Thank you

Honestly, no apology necessary at all sir - entirely my fault! And thanks for your informative words. Great work. For future reference, you only have to copy the livery entries from the old aircraft.cfg and paste them into the one that's created with the installer. No need to copy the texture folders out or reinstall the add-on. I wasn't referring to the Texture folders - just the texture entries in the aircraft.cfg. As I only made a copy of the custom entries from my CFG, when I installed the mod, I lost the default entries. But as above - my fault. Re-installation was the only way to get the original, default livery entries back, in the CFG. Cheers. August 24, 20169 yr If I install this update on top of my previous one, will it delete my livery entries inside the aircraft.cfg file? I don't want to re-add them all over again, I have other entries in there as well. I'll try to provide a better installer for the final version. Sorry for this
August 25, 20169 yr I like the high end mod the best, more responsive and smooth, the low end is all over the place. Or at least was in the previous version. Besides getting a CTD when using "direct-to" which is Aerosoft's fault and the hotfix didn't fix it... I am having fun! Everyone if you use addons like EZDok and Precipfx make sure to re-run those programs after installing this mod so they can edit the aircraft.cfg files again. I also remove all the camera entries since ezdok covers the views. See post #13 both questions answered in the same reply, thanks, sorry!

August 28, 20169 yr Thanks for your hard work on this. I've always found the sidestick and rudder panels controls badly responsive on the airbus series - this helps a lot! My only issue now is the autopilot. There seems to be an increase in power at idle, which makes descent challenging. I'm finding it won't maintain speed (in either descent mode). For instance, setting 250 kts below 10000 ft gives you 260 steady. Anyway I can use the sidestick modifications without the thrust increase? Thanks again, - Daniel
August 28, 20169 yr Thanks for your hard work on this. Dan do you know if this will benefit a non stick user ? thanks Rich Sennett
August 28, 20169 yr Dan do you know if this will benefit a non stick user ? thanks Not sure, to be honest. I've never used a yoke with the airbuses. I would say if you have issues with the airbuses and your yoke, then probably yes. - Daniel
