FS Labs A320 FSX release set for 18 Aug

Featured Replies

No one is beta testing anything, Pete. We have said many times, that the EA process is to catch any potential and unforeseen issues with the installation and configuration process. The technology that the A320-X is built upon is extremely complex and integrated - and with the vast number of configuration possibilities for FSX/FSX-SE and P3D, this thing needs rolling out carefully.

We will not be asking anyone to report any system logic anomalies with the aircraft - we have several teams in place for that already and any such findings by our customers will be investigated thoroughly by them.

Obviously, after such a prolonged development cycle, we are keen to make the product available as quickly and smoothly as we can.

I stand corrected. Good luck with it

Hi Michel,

Almost - we've already invested a lot of time and resources into the A320 for P3D. The title will be subjected to a beta/rc program similar to the one we conducted for the FSX title and then released. Our intention is to begin this process shortly after the general release of the A320 for FSX.

Obviously any issues that are discovered and fixed now as part of the FSX release, that are applicable to the P3D version, will be applied. For that reason, we're anticipating a shorter testing period.

Pete,

Many thanks - any questions, please feel free to drop us a note on our forum.

Thanks Andrew, I'll be ready when you guys are. I wish you and everyone on your team much success with the FSX rollout.

They claim the price is all day Thursday. And you do not get other variants for the 777, you have to buy the 773 for an additional 30 dollars. Check you rmath.

PMDG 777- 200 + 300 = 90+30 =  $120   FSL 100 + VAT (25%) =  $125

Check your math!

Kind regards
R.G

Hi Andrew,

Can I ask you if the P3D version is ready to be sold (packaged) and that you are just waiting for the FSX version to roll out?

I think Andrew is probably a bit busy right now so I'll jump in. As I understand it, the P3D version is still in development and will follow. It makes sense to get the FSX release away smoothly before releasing for a different platform.

I am going to give you a nice tip, if someone uses American dollars, don't start adding in foreign taxes just to try and make a point.

Go fly you Aerosoft Airbus and enjoy not spending a lot, no one forces you to buy this product.

Thanks Ben. By the way, great first look video you posted. Part 2 coming up soon? ;)

Do you have an idea on the P3D pricing, if I buy the fsx version am I able to upgrade to the future P3D version for only the difference in price? Hopefully someone can answer this, I don't have time to go sign up on your forum.

Then you both are in the wrong hobby. Flight simming has always been expensive, from having to buy a powerful computer to all the addons you need to build on the default engine.

It doesn't have to be expensive. I've been simming for 7 years and a $30 joystick + payware aircrafts is essentially what I ever needed. Don't overlook the amount of freeware created by the community.

Thanks Michel. Yep it's uploading to Youtube as we speak. Be a couple of hours though as we use very high render settings so the master video files are pretty big!

Yes you can go the freeware route there are many high quality freeware products available. But complicated modern aircraft is a large process requiring lots of time and only a few expensive payware options.

Getting expensive is still really the only option for some really good first class stuff aka Aerowinx/PMDG/Majestic/A2A, and presumably this, and some fine hardware with Hall effect sensors or head tracking. There's only so much one can do with a small budget but if it gets the job done for one's hobby then it is good enough - and yes, I knew Aerowinx B744 is entirely another beast well above any FSX addon.

Going to have to wait for a few reviews myself before getting something this expensive, though I do hope it is as good as it claims to be, and worth the long wait.

Yeah I do agree the price tag for the high quality addons are definitely justified by the time and resource put into the development. But for some people like me the extra features are just so rarely used. I am quite interested in watching some videos of people flying in the FSL A320 to learn some cool stuff, but whether to buy it or not is entirely another thing.
