From the video it looks like the parking section textures might still be a bit wobbly, although that could just be my hangover. Any beta testers around that can confirm?

Yes it will be disappointing if the ground textures are still wobbly. Hopefully it will be fixed.

Yes wobbly!

X-Plane has an issue where ground textures shake and wobble. No idea why and it's very distracting. It's more obvious on concrete or tarmac.

Wobbly ?

In a small plane sitting close to the ground, if you glance left through the window and look at the runway texture, you'll see a slight wobble or shaking of the ground texture, as if the plane is vibrating. That would be reasonable except that it's also visible with the engine off!

You can see it at 1:26 in that video clip above of the FMOD sound feature, when the view shifts to the side door. Look at how the runway is slightly vibrating.

It appears more strongly on some user's systems than others. I can barely see a vibration on my rig. It's less than in that video, but I can see it if I look for it. I'm also not showing anything like the shadow aliasing in that FMOD video. That demo video is running on a non-optimized system.

Anyway, it would be nice if this could be eliminated, but it's pretty low on my list of things I'd like to see improved in the sim.

Yep, and sorry if you hadn't seen it before because it is one of those things that once you notice, you can't un-notice. Not, as Paraffin says, that it's likely to be anyone's priority though.

I always thought that was screen tearing. Not a big deal since I don't stay on the ground for to long.

I too notice this if I am in a GA aircraft, sitting idle with the break on.  The ground near the aircraft appears to shift back and forth.  I also notice, depending on the aircraft, if I view the aircraft from the outside, the nosewheel goes spastic.  Neither issue affects the aircraft once I get going though.

The thing is.. 'Beta 5' /// I mean, it could be released even now, since 11.0 will be Beta level until at least 11.25 ?!?

Maybe they want to do better than with the XP 10 release? I would prefer a stable release in 2017 instead of a buggy release in 2016, because a lot of new people will try XP 11, but will shelve it if it's just s beta. (Does not matter for them that this has always been the case.)

If it follows previous versions (and software release conventions), the initial release won't be a Beta. It will be an official 11.0 version. What we're seeing as "Beta 5" etc. are internal and limited Betas before the official 11.0 version goes live.

The following public Betas will be for patches numbered up from 11.0, with official release versions of the patches after each public Beta period. Just like X-Plane 10.

Usually after they finish the "Betas" series, they move to the "release candidate" series and after that the official release...
