It's an nvidia tech available on some screens that dynamically syncs screen refresh rate with output frames. When it works....

So far, I've found nothing that doesn't work with it. (Knock on wood)

Do you also set it through Inspector ? Where is that particular setting ?

Your monitor has to support it, and it adds a bit to the price of the monitor.

NVIDIA G-SYNC is groundbreaking new display technology that delivers the smoothest gaming experience ever. G-SYNC’s revolutionary smoothness is achieved by synchronizing display refresh rates to the GPU in your GeForce GTX-powered desktop or notebook, eliminating screen tearing and minimizing display stutter and input lag. The result: scenes appear instantly, objects look sharper, and gameplay is super smooth, giving you a stunning visual experience and a serious competitive edge.”

Sorry, but that's not correct. It's inscatter twice and scatter for the remaining three.

Ok Hans, I have just edited again to what you show:

set("sim/private/controls/atmo/inscatter_gain_mie", -0.5)
set("sim/private/controls/atmo/inscatter_gain_raleigh", 8)
set("sim/private/controls/atmo/scatter_raleigh_b", 75.0)
set("sim/private/controls/atmo/scatter_raleigh_g", 9.4)
set("sim/private/controls/atmo/scatter_raleigh_r", 5.6)

This is now how I have these lines set to, inside my x.lua script.
Thanks for posting...and to ALL for posting. I am not a script writer, and very much appreciate when others that have a handle on this stuff, offer their postings and advice.  Trust me, I'm not the only one that acts upon it!  :hi:

Post Edit:   Hans...with all the corrected in-script...man...give me SMP 4 for XP11 native, when released......and I could fly with this rendition, till the cows came home!  Wow...XP11 graphics, XP11 FPS performance yet even in Beta...life if GOOD!:

You know...we all clamor about wanting the 'holy grail' of flight simming...mainly, smooth graphic performance that suspends disbelief that you are experiencing real motion (albeit full motion sensor chair, of course), but honestly, with any decent system of the last five years...in XP11, even in beta1.00000000000000, lol, you can!

What do we have..that we all clamor about:

A 64 bit sim, that frees us of limited VAS, AND..a  sim that will actually utilize fully, the expensive VRAM you PAID FOR!

Smooth graphics with the sim flat out

Acceptable FPS, in-sim, that gives us full fluid animation and motion.

Well...we have that now.  Even in beta. Laminar has done an exceptional job, for a small in-house production firm of a very few dedicated programmers and graphic artists.  Could we have Orbx'esqe regions?  Sure we could. The graphic engine would allow for that.  Could we have Orbx'esqe full-blown and feature-rich airports?  We ALREADY DO...with such extremely talented artists such as Mr. X's  San Diego, San Francisco, Boston Logan....and the many more to come.  He has proven that you can have near real-life ortho, auto-gen, animated support vehicle structure running around the airports, animation of any kind.  XP10 and 11 can support all that.

We have it all now.  This is bad to say...but since I have tweaked XP11 and for goodness sakes...even as a raw yes-shows-some-bugs, first public release Beta....I have not touched either FSX, P3D, or even FS9.  I have been totally absorbed in discovering the unlocked world of XP11, but yeah...injected with 123 GB's of XP goodness carried over from XP10...and BTW...all working!  Plugin's, as well as scenery/airports...

So...do we have a 64 bit sim, that gives smooth FPS at even as low as 15 FPS, with the sim totally max'ed out!   You bet we do.....

XP11 is trully remarkable. The problem is by busting my GTX 980 4GB VRAM all the time it itches me to no end that I need to upgrade my system asap which means I have to be creative again to figure out how to get those credit card charges paid without being caught by our house CEO/CFO.

Plus waiting for Kobylake i7 and GTX 1080 ti becomes a lot more painful and way much longer.

BAD BAD XP11!

9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11

Interestingly, I found that my old original version of Skymaxx 2.1 (I never got around to buying V3) works with Xp11, with very nice results. Some issues with transparency/blending, but a great improvement over default clouds. It also seems to tame the wild sun-glare a bit.

And a huge FPS jump in non-hdr mode even at 2K resolution.

I am happy to say that today I managed to sneak in a GTX1070 SC and replace my GTX780ti and it is installed and functioning!

Good for you Rick!

In my plain old looking PC dedicated to flight simulator, I had sneaked in at least three video cards unnoticed during the last five years . Hope my luck will last at least one more time...

Just a reminder of where we flightsimmers have come.  Sadly, I can remember all these variations and this will tell you that I am, in fact, Old As Dirt, but also answers the question as to why old timers here are always awestruck with what we have.

I have been doing this since I had a 3DFX Voodoo 3 sent to my office address.  Now that I'm semi-retired and work at home, I have to be a little more creative!
