January 5, 20179 yr God X-Enviro... how horrible can your puffs get... Yeah, definitely not a strong point when this particular weather shows up. A big problem here is the darker outline around the clouds that doesn't blend with the background sky color, so they look pasted on. Even with a brighter sky color that avoids that issue, there is something just not right about the appearance: It can look pretty good in other cases. This is the kind of shot that tends to get "wow" reactions, but there is still something very flat-looking about these clouds: X-Plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator on Windows 10 i7 6700 4.0 GHz, 32 GB RAM, GTX 1660 ti, 1920x1200 monitor

Something seems very wrong on your end I have not seen this dark outline of clouds and agree thats not right but cant seem to find this activity on my xenviro install Even the passenger seat is a nice place to be with xEnviro Great shot Rich Sennett

January 5, 20179 yr Something seems very wrong on your end I have not seen this dark outline of clouds and agree thats not right but cant seem to find this activity on my xenviro install Great shot Thank you and yes, I believe that's because people are turning off the atmosphere effects and then wondering why it looks weird. That effect won't happen if you run with the full settings. The sky colours are a tell-tale sign that lower atmosphere setting has been turned off in the first one. I'm running with the default installed settings (haven't touched Cloud Settings), with the addition of Upper and Lower Atmosphere checked on. I just double-checked that to make sure. I also have Minimum RVR and Maximum Ceiling set to maximum, but that shouldn't affect the weather in those shots. I have weather update set to every 10 minutes. If other XEnviro users aren't seeing those clouds, then they may not have had this particular weather occur yet. That dark outline on cloud puffs is most obvious when you happen to get a contrasting sky color like my screen shot. I've seen it in other user's screen shots too. Even without that though, those puff shapes are just nasty. X-Plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator on Windows 10 i7 6700 4.0 GHz, 32 GB RAM, GTX 1660 ti, 1920x1200 monitor

January 5, 20179 yr Agree on this much As others have said, they look like this for you because of the settings you have chosen. Enable the atmosphere settings and you will no longer have those weird looking clouds.

My settings are at the max recommended too.. id like to nail this down to what is causing it (xp11 here, 1.06) As others have said, they look like this for you because of the settings you have chosen. Enable the atmosphere settings and you will no longer have those weird looking clouds. I shared this earlier.. but again, in my case full settings including atmosphere are enabled.. or are you suggesting something else Asus Strix z790-e; 1000 watt evga SuperNova Plat; 14900k AC_LL 0.55 adp -0.050 253/253/355 CEPoff (CB-1pass 39200 80c, msfs peak 92,avg 60-78c, astrorender 95c,room76F); 64GB(dual 32) cl32 6400 at 6400 xmpII F5-6400J3239G32GX2-TZ5RK, Asus Ryuo III 360mm; Thermaltake v51 Case; Gigabyte 4090 OC; VR-Crystal; Dofreality H6; Astrosite

January 5, 20179 yr I shared this earlier.. but again, in my case full settings including atmosphere are enabled.. or are you suggesting something else Maybe there is a bug, maybe it doesn't enable the atmosphere settings properly. As I said to Paraffin, if you have an ICAO where I could load up and potentially see the effect. Maybe it's a local issue, maybe it's a bigger bug lurking underneath. I'm also on X-Plane 11. Because in all my hours of testing, I have yet to see that transparency edge issue unless I turned off atmosphere effects. I do have those upper and lower atmosphere settings enabled. Doesn't help. Edit to add: If I see it again, I'll quick-post an ICAO, but it's gonna be tough to get exactly the same injected weather due to time delays. Might be worth a try though. Just to make it clear, not trying to dismiss your claim and I can see you have it enabled. Just wanted to show you a comparison, to show you why I find it odd. Here's two identical shots, with lower atmosphere on / off. You see the exact same odd transparency edge in the 'off' shot; Here's a comparison of the off shot with yours, notice how similar the sky colour is and the clouds (outside of the size difference of course). My first recommendation would be to completely remove xEnviro and re-install it, to make sure nothing is going on underneath. EDIT: Also, what happens when you tick / untick the lower atmosphere setting under those conditions? Does it get worse? Does anything happen?
