ActiveSky 16 close to v4 release

Featured Replies

ASP4/ASCA looking real good. Performance seems about the same as AS16/ASCA in P3d. The only thing that I noticed that was slightly different was the in-cloud effect, which seems grayer in ASP4.

This is another winner for HiFi. I'm still waiting on the GTN 750, VOXATC 64 bit and Roland's radar gauge (if he ever got his MS login to work).

No clouds in the sky and my fps is locked at 30.  on the ground and after takeoff I get quick drops to 20fps for a few seconds before jumping back up to locked at 30. This could be the first time it runs I should have cleared out my shaders first.

Waiting on GTN 750 as well hope its soon and integrates into my A2A 172 well. I wish I could get it back into the Turbine Duke, any thoughts?

Final Release or BETA ?

That is correct.

You're getting upset for nothing.  That is the Active Sky 2016 SP1 FSX upgrade.  That is the cross platform price to get AS16 for FSX, not Prepar3D.

Compatability:   FSX, FSX:SE

Make sure that you choose the correct platform my friend or you might be wasting your money and pay more than double.

Thanks for pointing that out -- it seems the P3D version upgrade is 27 euro as well. When I checked the AS website it still said the sale was on, I guess I just missed it.

I am upset over the fact ASN will not be supported in P3D V4; I think if AS6  can be migrated over relatively painlessly, then ASN can as well. I don't see a considerable difference in using ASN vs AS16 (ASN has all the functions I need), and for a 27 euro upgrade too much to ask. Unfortunately if that is the case, I will now have to upgrade to AS16 to use it in P3D v4.

Thanks, Vic.  So many add-ons I will be missing; but, we have a much, much better sim, now. I recently got AS2016 and it's very nice.. very realistic combined with Cloud Art.

Does the latest ASCA work with P3D v4? I downloaded the latest update and tried to add in the path for P3D v4 manually but the Make Active button is greyed out and won't let me click.

ASUS ROG Maximus Hero XII ▪︎ Intel i9-10900K ▪︎ NVIDIA RTX 3090 FE ▪︎ 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro ▪︎ Windows 10 Pro (21H1) ▪︎ Samsung 970 EVO Pro 1TB NVME SSD (OS Drive) ▪︎ Samsung 860 EVO 2TB SATA SSD ▪︎ Seagate 4TB SATA HDD ▪︎ Corsair RMx 850W PSU

After installing ASP4, do you now have two P3d V3 entries under the ASP4 options page? The second one might be Prepar3d V4 but is mislabeled. Check the path.

ASN has not been supported since Prepar3D v2, there have been just too many changes in Prepar3D and that is why AS16 was developed and improved since it was released last June.  There are things that HiFi is doing now with AS16 that just wasn't possible with ASN.

No mine clearly says prepar3d v4 for the second link butthe make active button is not clickable. How did you giys get ASCA to work for p3d v4?

ASUS ROG Maximus Hero XII ▪︎ Intel i9-10900K ▪︎ NVIDIA RTX 3090 FE ▪︎ 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro ▪︎ Windows 10 Pro (21H1) ▪︎ Samsung 970 EVO Pro 1TB NVME SSD (OS Drive) ▪︎ Samsung 860 EVO 2TB SATA SSD ▪︎ Seagate 4TB SATA HDD ▪︎ Corsair RMx 850W PSU

ASCA settings screen, add the new sim path on the right side and press save.

I have this, and I wasn't sure, so I added the path for P3Dv4 and it is working as intended. Not sure how you remove the other entry.

Intel i7 10700K | Asus Maximus XII Hero | Asus TUF RTX 3090 | 32GB HyperX Fury 3200 DDR4 | 1TB Samsung M.2 (W11) | 2TB Samsung M.2 (MSFS2020) | Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280mm AIO | 43" Samsung Q90B | 27" Asus Monitor

I think we may have lost that wispy rain effect... We need that.. That was quite cool about AS16.
