Can Someone Please Summarize Relationship - Black Marble, Orbx, UTX

Gotta be one of the few people here actually enjoying BM.

Had a wunderful flight yesterday from Hamburg to ORBX Innsbruck in the 737 with ORBX Global, OpenLC Europe, North Germany, Vector and BM Base. And I really enjoyed the night lighting! It may not be perfect, but it was close to what I saw in my last night flight some weeks ago from Greece to Germany. In real life not the whole world and every road is lit up and that's exactly what I saw in the sim.

Well, I don't doubt that there are things to be sorted out but I personally really do like the look of it even though I am just using BM Base.

so, what did you actually do to make it working? And could you post a picture of what it looks like?

I posted some pictures some days ago. But I can make more pictures.

Actually I did nothing special. I only installed BM Base. I did not change any settings in ORBX stuff, I run ORBX Vector with all options checked.

Give me a location and a time and I will make screenshots tonight :-)

Hi David,

Not sure what problems may exist between you and Chris, but stating that "Orbx Vector is not compatible with BM as it is today, period." is absolutely "FALSE"! You have been provided video and photographic evidence that shows the product working.

You asked for traffic, I gave you traffic. I also showed you a list of everything that is included in orbx vector and yet none of it is messed up as a result of B/M. Yet you insist it's not compatible... Is Black Marble a new product; yes, is it experiencing birthing pains, yes. These growing pains are no different than any other new release, nothing more.

It is compatible with Orbx and for those having issues it will be taken care of I'm sure.

From the beginning, I have tried to help figuring out this issue, here and in your forum, nothing else.
But you apparently don't like to hear the truth.
And you are not showing that you are a gentleman, trying to hide reality behind a smoke screen and being aggressive.

What about Vienna?

:-)

Sure, no problem. But as real life kicks in I gotta have dinner tonight with the wife and 2 friends, so it could be getting late tonight (german time zone) ;-)

So you have to wait some hours for my screenshots.

Taje your time. The request has priority -99 :-)

Mike,

No problem between Chris and I.

I don't know Chris, never met him or communicated with him before and until now was very satisfied with what I purchased from him (over 10 addons).

I didn't "ask for traffic", I just said that when I disable Orbx vector transportation roads I have no more traffic, like lot of us on Chris forum.

Actually I don't care about traffic but about layers that are displayed during day time.

Nothing more. I am not looking for arguing but for a clear way to make BM work with Orbx Global vector.
Until now, no one provided me with a solution that works for me.

Hi,

I still have a few questions  to make it clear for me :

1-did you disable or enable "Remove 3rd party" in BM manager?

2-did you  disable or enable ORBX Vector_EXX in P3DV4 menu ?

3-did you disable or enable ORBX OLC EU lighting

4-did you disable or enable ORBX LC NA lighting

Thanks!

Jac

1) Did not change anything after installation

2) still everything like it was after installing ORBX Vector, did not touch anything, same for 3 and 4.

I will attach a pic of my scenery lib with the screenshots later on.

Like I said: I just installed ORBX stuff and BM Base and did not change any settings in neither of the addons. Just installed and started the sim :-)

And Stefan, are you sure what you see is BM night?

Can you please make a quick test for me?

Please take a pic with BM Base Active and another one with BM inactive.

Here is what I get with both: same thing, very few change only and less lights.

And this is with BM base only, after uninstalling BM vector.

My conversations with Chris have revealed a completely different person than you describe. When a developer gets attacked with such veracity as I have read here then it starts to become personal.

Also this constant negative force sometimes will cause a developer to abandon a project or withdraw from the forums. I will give Chris much credit by sticking to this and through this and still come here to provide help and assistance despite one persons obvious attempts to derail this train.

As I said, my conversations with this developer have been productive and without any drama. I really hope we can all sit back and let Chris take a breath  and do what he does and that is make BM the best product of it's kind.

I don't know Chris, my 1st conversation with him was today and he is probably mixing with somebody else. He first tried to make me change my mind by mail, then threatened me in an PM, talked about Vatsim (never used it), about David Rosenfeld (I got one of his airports but don't know the guy), about his past problems with ORBX (I prefer to keep the content of his PM for myself for the sake of the whole community) and finished his PM with: "you can be an orbx ###### i have no beef with that! just don't get in my way David!."

I am not an Orbx fAN@boy nor any other developer ###### and I don't like threats.
I am 60, sim flying since 1974, lot of people know me here since I was and remain Tom's friend, and Chris' reaction is unacceptable. For me he is not honest guy and I don't want to hear from him anymore.

End of the story for me.

...and I can attest a good friend, mentor, and great moderator to me personally, and to a whole generation of AVSIM members, by the tens of thousands!

I hope that Chris will find a way (if he hasn't already) for it to work seamlessly with the dominant ORBX add-ons without negative results and disappointed customer feedback. Quite a challenge I am sure but he seems determined enough to see it through to an agreed upon successful conclusion.

Looking forward to then!

Kind regards,
