I can happily report that Nvidia 388.31's are working quite well for me, gained an average of 2 frames (been ages since such a thing happened) and chaseplane likes 'em also (in the panning department). Runway textures on take off are doing very well.

I love good news on a Friday morning.

thx

I've been running with this version for a few days and it does seem good in general.

(man, it's nice to no longer worry about memory and memory leaks stealing what little available memory you have...)

It's Thursday Afternoon ...

Am I the only one who never notices any real differences with new drivers for P3d?

I can understand newer games gaining performance with improved drivers obviously...

You’re a bit early in that case reading this topic.

Happy thanksgiving then.

An average of 2 frames! Wow!

95% of the time when someone comes running into the forum proclaiming better FPS from a new video card driver, it’s purely a placebo effect. Sure, go ahead and download the driver, but take these posts with a grain of salt.

Omg...no!  not a new gpu driver...2 steps foward 1 step back.

I remember Captain .... ( can’t remember his name ) who always responded with “snakeoil” when someone reported a new holy grail.

This driver is giving me the same good fps as many before...

Stand by the old addage,  if it aint broke then why fix it?

I’ve witnessed newer drivers actually induce stutters in P3D and have recommended people rolling back to drivers from May of this year.  Many users have reported success.

Of course in the end its up to you. Rather than chasing higher frames,  look for a smooth experience and stick with that driver.

Your going to jump me because of 2 frames....Jeepers, I'm not even going to mention our new car gets 8 more MPG than our last one. I rarely see any frame advantage from new drivers only some sort of negative thingamajig. I may have to pass on mentioning any more driver stuff.
