Bahamas Scenery Pack 1 available for download

Recommended Posts

I am in the process of updating the Bahamas scenery.  I just posted a scenery pack: bahamas_scenery_pack_1.zip for download.

https://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=bahamas&CatID=p3dscen&Go=Search

This is replacement scenery is for northern Bahamas: Grand Bahama, Abaco, Bimini, and the Berry Islands, plus the Turks and Caicos. This pack includes updated vector, land class, water class, static objects, and all airports for these region. All airports are now accurately located and updated. This is a huge improvement over the default scenery. I plan to release three more scenery packs that will cover all of the Bahamas as time allows. Enjoy!

Also any talented airport/scenery developers interested in helping out in this project, feel free to contact me - gregory.goodwin1@gmail.com

You all are most welcome.  Any constructive feedback is welcome.  If you have any problems or notice anything that isn't accurate, let me know.  Reference pics or other materials will help.  Enjoy escaping to the Bahamas!

Hello,

I have been looking at the instructions and have a question regarding the default scenery items (..\scenery\0302\scenery\) to hide.

You mention files like BRX27220.bgl (ok-found) cvx27220.bgl (not-found) but I find cvx2722.bgl but I do see OBX27220.bgl. Am I missing something here?

The same naming convention seems to repeat in the other directories and in FSX-SE.

You are quite right.  they should be the OBX files e.g., OBX27220!

The OBX files are the object files which include default ships, buildings, and other objects.

The cvx files are for the default lines an polygons which are automatically suppressed by the new terrain cvx files.  No need to also hide them in the base scenery.  Thanks for spotting this, I will update the instructions.

Thanks for finding this I was about to post the same question when I still saw duplicate objects.
