Don't mean to teach grandma to suck eggs but could the anti virus you mentioned have caused the client installer issue?

You know...I don't know for sure. But I have never yet in all my installs of P3DV2,3 and 4 and there have been plenty, the client just did its thing right after I uninstalled the previous client. And checking my antivirus for program control P3D is set for "always" in terms of open communication with the net.

How helpful is a 'What you should have done' post? The guy is tearing his hair out, he doesn't need to be told what he should have done!

All this has led me to absolutely hate P3D! For crying out loud, how is it that this late in the game, a sim, new install doesn't work and after trying to fix it like some have had success doing...its still broken..

I hate it, hate it, hate it...

I see where you went wrong. P3D can sense hate and WILL strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

I just went trough the process of going to 4.5. Restarted the computer three times and got three different issues. Did a fourth  restart and every thing is fine. offensive initials not allowed became the buzz phrase of the day. I 've quit wondering why.😕

Its my computer, I'm the admin...I have never ever had this issue before, what in blazes is going on?

Actually, you aren't the "real Administrator", or more accurately you don't have full administrative powers.

There is a special, hidden function in all Win 7, 8 and 10 known as the "Super Administrator" which allows absolutely FULL control of everything. It is similar to the "root level admin" of the Unix platform. The reason it is not easily accessible is simply because it is dangerous for the casual user...

Hi Bryan,

I hear your frustration, X-Plane does seem to work without many issues.

And it costs a zillion dollars less than P3D !!

Let's say we have FSX and other flightsims which were already installed without super admin privileges. Then in that case, is there any advantage now to create a super administer account to use when running these installations which were created by our other account(s) which did not have these privileges? Or would we have to reinstall everything while using a super administrator account?
