There seems to be some, um, confusion between officially released screenshots and leaked screenshots. I would argue that posting anything with a watermark is just fine because the watermark allows Microsoft to see the source of the screenshot and then they, instead of Avsim, can decide what to do about it. Only Microsoft knows if it was authorized, and I doubt Microsoft is interested in having Avsim as it's vigilante NDA enforcer. If Microsoft wants to take someone to task for an NDA breach, I assure you, they know how. The presence of a watermark is what should make it acceptable to post here. Now, a screenshot with a blurred out watermark...I'm more amenable to disallowing those because the blurring of the watermark indicates a clear and purposeful attempt to circumvent the NDA.  That said, Avsim has no actual business injecting itself into an agreement to which it isn't a party, but that's a 'whole nother' topic...

Yet you've just deleted a watermarked screenshot from the weekly update... So either, (a) you've decided to ban the weekly updates entirely, which will just kill this subforum, or (b) you're going to have to manually cross-check every watermarked screenshot against every weekly update since the alpha began to determine whether it was released by Microsoft or not? Why is this something you or anyone at Avsim would want to do? Has Microsoft asked you to do this? Seems like a lot of work.

I believe you assume incorrectly. @ChaoticBeauty, as far as I know, is not from the Microsoft/Asobo team, but rather just one of us. It is so puzzling that Microsoft has thanked @ChaoticBeauty more than once for bringing the updates and screenshots here to Avsim and fostering discussion and excitement about the new sim. I'm sorry to be blunt, but why on earth have the moderators decided that this is not positive? What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

Don't worry about that!  I'm tired of being the policeman on this!  MY id tag is not on those shots and I won't be the one breaking the NDA.  Let the chips fall where they may.   MS/Asobo can make the determination as they see fit. 👮‍♂️

Of which all I see is that the new Microsoft/Asobo public forum site is not yet available.

We do what we do at the behest of the developers.  I have given up and will let the developers take the necessary action they feel they need to do!  Don't cry if they ask us to shut down the MFS2020 forum!

I don't understand why you get so defensive. ALL the screenshots that ie Shack95 and others post in here is official MS approved screenshots from their development updates. They are shown on many other sites like FSElite ie. so taking the "policeman" role for something that's not even breaking the NDA, that's ridicilous if you ask me.

Please let this thread get back to what it started as,a place with comparison shots of how it looks in bing maps, and how they have done it in MSFS. And also give the location a name, so we can see where it is, and give some inspiration to where we may want to fly when the sim is out.

And btw. I wish that testers taking the screenshots would save them with filenames that would say where they were taken, (that would make it so much easier for Shack95 🙂 )

If there was one thread to keep in this forum, that would be it thanks to the dedication of Shack and some others. I honestly fail to understand where is the problem in comparing side by side a MS approved shot from FS20 and a MS Bing capture.
