June 19, 20205 yr if you look carefully in that last video, you see a mountain in the distance that stands out, almost like a volcano. Perhaps that helps! 😅 Edited June 19, 20205 yr by 767lover

June 19, 20205 yr Yes, 76, noticed the mountain is much higher than surrounding range - thought it might Mt. Rainer and we were SE but the earth colour - that lovely rose-brown clay put that out the window. Yes Shack - reckon you're right with that. I've had a look in Italy, South Africa, North Africa, Spain.

You're so wrong about that. And I'm not a callous person - I'm keeping a very keen eye on the whole thing. Peace... We're just all getting well in to the new sim. June 19, 20205 yr Commercial Member Got it, takes almost two hours but it was a lot of fun And....there should not be a runway there!! Place is pretty near Redding Municipal Airport, CA, (RDD VOR 108.40 is active, so the place needs to be near..) https://www.reddinghobbies.com/ It looks like an old RC airplanes airstrip COORDS: LAT N40.50 LON W-122.37 Edited June 19, 20205 yr by mamu82

I shall fly there - I shall take the Piper Warrior off that runway - designed for Model Aircraft and fly that left base (after avoiding the trees and the river) like a hero heading for that mountain which we can surely confirm is; Shasta in the Shasta Mountain Reserve. Kudos to you and bloody well done. x
June 19, 20205 yr Administrators Any posting of watermarked Alpha pics WILL be removed! Charlie AronAVSIM Board of Directors-ADMIN/Moderator-RegistrarJust going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!
June 20, 20205 yr "Any posting of watermarked Alpha pics WILL be removed!" I hope you don't mean the official MS approved screenshots? Jorn Lundtoft I don't always stop and look at airplanes.........Oh wait, Yes I do. Intel I7-13700F, 32GB Fury DDR5 - 6000, Kingston 1TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD, Asus Geforce RTX 4070 TI 12GB, Kingston 2TB M2 NVMe SSD, Corsair 750W PCU, Windows 11
June 20, 20205 yr MS have their own site where the pictures are posted so I doubt they'd be too upset with Avsim banning posting of watermarked screenshots 😉 May all your landings be safe ones! Hugh Costello - NZWN

June 20, 20205 yr Commercial Member - there was RDD VOR (108.40) tuned in NAV1, therefore take off location shoud be near redding - take off heading was 122/124, so i searched for similar runway nearby, no kick - in the video, the guy take off (on the left theres an highway and a river, sort of) this was a nice clue - left turn 90 degree, now you can see some square lakes/ponds (another clue) - another 90 degree left turn, and then the guy in the video looks down the right Windows: boom, Redding Airport there (crossed runway): from this spot i've gone backward keeping an Eye at the clues above...and i find a runway where there should not exist an Airport. All this work, and we have a 5min video...kudos to Shack95 , he's able to find spots from Just One Little picture!

Dear Sherlock (Mamu) Holmes, I am, as ever, in awe of your methods and the fact that when you point them out it seems obvious as to how your came to your deductions. Yours, Dr. Watson. p.s: You left your opium pipe in the lavatory again and Mrs Hudson has been "at it". This means we won't be getting any supper this evening...again! Shack95 is like the Professor Moriarty of MSFS2020 location investigation. His powers seem supernatural. Edited June 20, 20205 yr by Will Fly For Cheese
