August 31, 20196 yr Does anyone know of scenery availability for the Bahamas and/or Nassau for P3d v4? I have found it for version 3, but not version 4. Stan
August 31, 20196 yr Hi Stan, If it’s the Nassau from one of the Aerosoft developers (Boeing Field Team) - I’d steer clear - I remember reading numerous posts of people having many performance issues that I don’t recall ever being resolved... I think I recall a post where someone mentioned they didn’t even use LOD’s on their models... YMMV... Bernardo has a bunch of Bahamas payware sceneries on short final but they haven’t been released and therefore there are no reviews yet... I’ve been following his progress for years and I’m anxious to see these... https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/551487-south-bimini-cat-cay-release-news/?tab=comments#comment-4013507 Regards, Scott Edited August 31, 20196 yr by scottb613
August 31, 20196 yr There are no v4 native versions that I am aware of...I use the Aerosoft (IDS) version for P3Dv3, with some custom GSX2 enhancements. But beware, MYNN is one of those airports that has been tweaked in ORBX OpenLC NA, so if you use OpenLC you have to go in and remove any ORBX airport/elevation files. The biggest problem that I recall was it was so heavy on VAS that it was practically unusable in FSX with any sort of advanced acft add on or weather. Not an issue in P3Dv4. I haven't seen any really significant performance problems in v4, but then again, I could just be powering through them by brute force with my system. August 31, 20196 yr Hi Bob, Thanks - I have no first hand experience with them... Also noticed Bernardo has a new site up and the pictures look incredible... https://www.photosimlabs.com Regards, Scott
August 31, 20196 yr I use Bahamas Airfield Package. It's freeware from 2013, but with that in mind, it's OK. Needs Ultimate Terrain X - The Tropical Americas & Caribbean, so if you have that, it's worth trying. Especially given the price... August 31, 20196 yr I suggest avoiding the older payware ASoft Nassau package on P3Dv4 - not designed for v4 and caused more trouble than its worth on my machine. I’ve seen others say that yes it runs & I agree that you *can fool the installer & tweak it to get it going, but then I noticed other problems & CTD’s. Using older v3 sceneries not designed for v4 is hit-or-miss in my experience. Some work fine, others - not so much. Loved it in v3 & too bad they never moved it fwd. rgds, JB 9800x3d, ASUS TUF x870, 64GB G.Skill DDR5, MSI Ventus 4080, HP Reverb G2 VR, FlyVirtual.net, Private Pilot SEL rating, subLogic FlightSim 1983 & every release since
August 31, 20196 yr The Bahamas is severely lacking in scenery in P3dv4...! So close to the Florida mainland it makes for fun short hops in all types of commercial and GA aircraft! Wish someone would make a decent P3dv4 comparable payware for the Bahama islands including Free Port and Nassau! Chris Camp

Cheers I was one of the more vocal complainants. In FSX I flew Concorde from England and expected no problems with VAS landing at such a small airport. But 10 miles out FSX crashed after running out of VAS. I was furious. Multiple messages to IDS (on Facebook as they had no support forum) asking why memory usage was so large were answered by them saying all the harbour detail was loaded in the same BGLs as the airport. They would look to separate harbour and airport scenery loading but never did. The other problem was the SODE jetways didn't work at a few gates either. I wouldn't touch any of their scenery again after that. They kept promising they would change things but never did. Ray (Cheshire, England). I remember having to do a bunch of work on the ADE and replacing some or all of the SODE jetways with GSX because they wouldn't reach the doors when parked on the spot. Can't say I'd give a ringing endorsement to IDS, either...but in this hobby, it's unfortunately not unusual to have to re-engineer a payware product to get it to work right, if at all. Sometimes it's either that or do without... September 1, 20196 yr Moderator @w6kd, Bob, changing the SODE jetways wasn’t an option a few years back unfortunately. I might try this airport again simply because VAS is no longer an issue and I can get rid of their jetways and create my own. I hate not being able to use an airport I’ve paid for. Sadly very few AFDs are fault free. I can never understand why they aren’t cleaned up by the authors. Ray (Cheshire, England). September 1, 20196 yr I personally use the Aerosoft MYNN in P3Dv4 with a lot of pleasure. I can see how back in the day people would have complained about performance, but VAS not being a problem anymore in P3Dv4, the airport runs very well for me and I think visually it looks great. The one annoyance is that it does not appear to come with excludes to get rid of other third-party AFCADs, such as is associated with OrbX Vector. Make sure to deactivate any MYNN-related file that comes with OrbX vector, or you'll have a bunch of random default terminals showing up. Other than that, paired with LatinVFR's KMIA, the MYNN-KMIA is one of the most pleasureable hops I know of - at least on my system.
