You have aparently never flown an add-on airplane in FSX/P3D with a high quality FDE since this is definitely not the case.

FYI, spin entry, attitude, speed, recovery, recovery ability etc. everything can be much better tuned in FSX/P3D than in x-plane.

I have, namely the A2A aircraft and the Alabeo Tomahawk. However, those are addon aircraft. It is nice to see that the new sim will appear to have comprehensive stall/spin characteristics out of the box.

Two things are for sure: 1. trees are of photogrammetry models, which look bad below 1000 feet.  2. Default terrain mesh resolution is rather low. See the “smooth” mountains in the third video.

I measured the speed of the aircraft in the Baltimore video using the bridge in the foreground.  The bridge is 0.4 nautical miles.  It takes 24 seconds to traverse it.  That's 3600 (seconds per hour) / 24 (seconds) * 0.4 (nautical miles) = 60 knots.  A little slow but not everyone flies at 240 knots.  Note the Icon A5's cruise speed is 85 knots.

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

Not to be a debbie downer or anything, but has anyone felt that the sounds in the video have been a little underwhelming?

Did lots of spins for my instructors rating, and that video brings back memories.😃. still patiently waiting for videos of my second wife (helicopters!!!)

OMG these videos are insane. No stutters, proper aerodynamics, and visual insanity! Please let this be good.

The Baltimore video title specifies that it's in May. So I'm wondering if that alludes to the fact that there may be seasonal variations. Still hard to say for sure though. Seasonal variations and snowfall seem to be one of the biggest unknowns to me at the moment.

I think that just refers to the build date. Could be wrong though.

The newest flight dynamics update in XPlane 11.40 will now simulate stalls exactly how we just saw it in the stall MSFS video! That's very encouraging.

I am amazed by this clips, thank you MS!

But is it just me or the runway in the first clip doesn't fit with the landscape? It looks too straight, the runway painting too bright, something doesn't feel right (I am not bringing the slope thing again on the table as MS already answered it)

But for me it looks odd...

I think folks should be mindful that photogrametry and ortho scenery could impose some limitations with seasonal variation and lighting.

It might also be the base sim has the traditional landclass and vector information without these issues and you only get these problems when streaming which you may have to pay extra for anyway.

It will be interesting to see how some of these challenges (there are already some creative solutions for xplane) are met but given the quality on show it's not a deal breaker for me if we didn't get seasons for the scenery with satalite imagery.

What sounds? I don't have any

I've got the 11.40 beta and, as much as I love X-Plane, while the changes in the video are all positive and it does simulate stalls well enough, I have yet to experience a realistic spin in X-plane. I know what a realistic spin is like as I have performed many in a real Cessna 150. This was part of the training requirement for a  PPL in Canada. I have done full spins of up to 3 rotations before recovery. The spin in the MSFS video looks much closer to what a full spin in a Cessna 150/152 would look like, but seems a bit flatter to me. Some of the better payware aircraft available for FSX and Prepar3d actually do have pretty realistic spin dynamics. Real Air and A2A for example.

Anyone noticed heads movements in the cockpit? For me it is one of the most important features, it brings sooo much immersion.

I am glad MSFS provides this feature in the base product.

I don't know how to describe it but I hope the head remains somehow vertical while in turns, like we do in real life. So we see the aircraft banking much more than the horizon.

That would be revolutionary, almost as good as EzDok and Chaseplane.😐

Or XPRealistic...

just wondering if new sim will have influence on P3D development ?, will they finally speed up with many improvements that are still on the list 'to be done' ?
