Are you guys seriously trying to get this thread shut down.

If you can't get along and stop this incessant arguing about VR, polls, and conspiracy take a break, have a beverage, and relax.

Take a deep breath and let us resume.

Thank you.

I voted for ATC because when I play FSX, I would hate to be without ATC/AI.  It would feel too lonely in the skies like i'm the only one in the whole world.  ATC also bring the element of organization to the whole experience.

My opinion and curiosity for VR:  I do not own VR hardware as of right now.  I do however own panels and switches that I use when playing FSX.  If I used a VR headset, would all of that hardware go to waste?

I also have a question.  What framerate would you need in VR for an enjoyable, no motion sickness experience?  If the answer is higher than 90fps then that probably wont be feasible with todays hardware capabilities.  I certainly dont get close to that on FSX with lots of AI.

You could of course still use all your hardware. What VR does is changing the 'way of seeing the world' for you (2D vs. VR) but it doesn't change how you operate the sim. It would just be awkward to reach the knobs without being able to see anything around you.

Around 90 FPS would be ideal, although I've tried VR at a way lower frame rate (40-ish I think) and didn't have any issues.

For those who may be interested in the real numbers, not the inflated ones, just before the reddit people showed up VR was about 2 to 2.5 times the numbers for helicopters.

This seems to match other polls on the same subject.

I would say at this point it's safe to take the results of this poll with a grain of salt.

Also, sounds like even on reddit these VR evangelists are taking flak for their slanted view of reality.

Interesting username overlap between there and here as well.

Wow I thought they only gathered votes from r/flightsim, but it seems like they did this from various other subs... these VR people are very weird, I wonder if the VR device they put on their head somehow rewires their brains neuronal network to force them to promote VR to other people in an aggressive way. The big VR corps may have very well taken control of their brains with their devices..

I'll admit that was unintentional, though funny now that I realize it 🙂

Says one of the kind folks from reddit (whose name just so happens to show up in the linked reddit thread).

The poll here at Avsim is intended to gauge the interests of THIS COMMUNITY.  Asking people that don't actively participate here to come in from outside and skew a poll betrays that premise.

Check this out..

My username BLUESHARK747 is the same everywhere and I've been a member here since 2012.
I'm pretty blunt about posting exactly how I feel and standing by that with nothing to hide

I meant exactly what I said about this place and I stand by it because its the absolute apparent truth.

So you can play sherlock holmes and witch hunt all you please.... and why would I ever care to get folks to come here and create an account for a poll?

A random poll on AVSIM doesn't determine if we get VR or not.😂

Please be careful of false accusations.{where are these new accounts i enlisted to sway the votes???}

I'd say the same exact thing here if it were allowed..no cut cards😉

So if its bannable and illegal to give criticism of this place elsewhere..then off with my head or change my mind

So be it!

You are really taking this dummy account poll swaying conspiracy stuff way too seriously, but of course this is to intentionally sabotage and have this thread closed.
We see you....
