Depends... Morning joys can make it really big before starting to uninstall stuff... Then, along the day / week / month it all returns to a tiny clean SSD, ready for the nest "morning " installs...

But P3D-wise, mine never grows above the default + Orbx Global + Aerosoft Madeira. That's about all I use with P3D, just for the sake of getting ( ESP ) visuals for ELITE IFT.

The main P3D folder is on F drive together with Orbx Main Library and those have 243 Gb. Most of the addons (airports, AI traffic stuff) is on E drive and that thing has 119 Gb. Everything is on SSDs, F being 500 Gb capacity and E 256 Gb.

Something around 700GB. Will get another 1TB SSD soon 😁

Greetings, Chris

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 2x32GB DDR5 6000MT/s RAM, MSI RTX 4090 Ventus 3X, Windows 11 Home, MSFS2024

P3Dv4 : 178Gb

P3D Addons : 459Gb

FSXSE : 155Gb

For comparison, my FS9 folder is 228Gb but I've not fired it up for a few years now. All on a 2Tb SATA SSD.

I was using a 4TB RAID 10 volume C. But now I've installed a 7Tb RAID 10 NAS for all the zips downloads and other rubbish, and implemented backed up shared folders for data across development rigs. I've gone minimum 2TB M.2s on new development PCs.

U.2s are the same as M.2s but handle more storage space.

You know this is not something I usually share with everyone but this time I will...1TB SSD.

How big is your P3d folder?

I was amazed to find out the mine is 368 gigabytes!  With a 500 GB Solid State drive, I'm getting a little nervous.  I have to admit I have a large airplane stable, and I should delete some of those that I don't use.

How big is yours?

Stan

I made a mistake here.  It's true that P3d is taking up 368 gigs, BUT the size of my drive is 1TB...NOT 500 GB!  So, in reality, there is 365 GB free.  733 GB of this drive are in use.

Still, with all the great additions one can make to the sim, 365 GB does not seem like a lot.

Stan

492GB on a 1TB SSD (which is downscaled to 838gb by Samsung for safety reasons? )

Michael Moe

btw

i keep my MEGA Scenery earth files on a another drive (+50GB)

heh... what a topic.

I have my P3D install spread across a 1TB M2 (PCI speed) and 2 x SSD 1TB as a striped raid array giving a 2 TB disk.

A sum total size dedicated to P3D 4.5.13 is 800.8 GB

Which is backed up three times a week to a 4 TB NAS box (as a mirrored raid array), which itself is backed up to a SATA3 4 TB drive in a docking station and rotated about once a month.

Cheers

Ryzen 5800X clocked to 4.7 Ghz (SMT off), 32 GB ram, Samsung 1 x 1 TB NVMe 970, 2 x 1 TB SSD 850 Pro raided, Asus Tuf 3080Ti

P3D 4.5.14, Orbx Global, Vector and more, lotsa planes too.
