P3Dv4.5 Micro Stuttering

Featured Replies

Good morning,

I have made a new installation from my P3d v4.5. The Simulator is installed on a new m.2 SSD. I only installed the following programs:

- Aerosoft A320 Pro Family

- Aerosoft Approaching Dortmund

- Taxi2Gate Munich

- GSX Level 2

My Settings ingame are OK. I have got 60 FPS. The Problem is Microstutting. Every few seconds I have laggs if I move the Airplane. It's a little stuttering. I hate it.

On a flight the same mistake. Stuttering, but not so hart like on the Ground.

Where can I fix the Problem?

My System:

AMD Ryzen 7 3700x

RTX 2070 OC Gaming

Samsung Evo m2 SSD 1 TB (P3D)

Samsung Evo 500 GB SSD (Windows)

Have you tried excluding P3D and addons from your antivirus software?

We really need to see this....

If you have FSUIPC auto save on can cause this.

My P3Dv4.5 setup went from working fine to very annoying microstutters.  Then they suddenly disappeared after a few weeks.  I can't pinpoint what caused them and what made them go away.  Before they went away, I installed and FSDT live update and an NVIDIA update.  So maybe one of those?

I always have it. I just built new system and did few flights on default airplanes with nothing installed yet and I noticed stutters.

Are you running unlimited frame rate, and no vsync?

And yes, OP really needs to post up settings, as well as refresh rate.

I tried different combinations with limited frame rates and unlimited etc. I am still experimenting but I see it every flight.

I'd suggest a 30hz refresh rate, unlimited, vsync on, as a starting point.

Thanks. I read that not all monitors can be changed to 30hz refresh rate. I could be wrong tho. I will check on that.

From my experience, FPS limiter and/or vsync could cause "micro stuttering", while I'm not sure if it's the seme behavoir as OP's describe

Not sure exactly why it worked, but I turned off hyper threading in BIOS yesterday and it took care of my stutters.  Of course, it worked for me, but may not for you.

Guys, I honestly think it’s something else other than internal P3D / video settings.  Reason:  I’m also noticing the same, after recently seeing silky smooth performance.  In my case, nothing else has changed except the seemingly endless Windows10 updates.  I’m doing more testing today ...and my core 0 has plenty of headroom. Suddenly m.stuttering at both FLightBeam KSFO taxi/takeoff, and at FSDT KIAH approach.  Annoyed.

Hyperthreading off, no affinity mask, monitor refresh rate at 30hz, lock frames at 30 and use P3d Vsync. Do NOT be too optimistic with sliders. 😉
