People post the specs of their Atomium-Giga PCs with 50000 gigs of RAM and 20000 VRam Video Cards and wonder why they only get 3 fps. 3. People return to playing FSX and P3D It's a totally new (to the FS franchise) development team providing communication and interaction unlike ever before. Let's give them the benefit of every doubt before throwing the criticism at them for things they've not yet not done.

Haha ya, sure.... I honestly think I need to stay out of this area of forums because I laugh so much at the speculations and comments I have to run to the bathroom. Others , with their pompous, self righteous, know-all attitudes make me want to go to the bathroom for another reason. The conversations need to stick to "what we want" but that's been repetitive. I'll watch the Microsoft site for my updates , but theres nothing new in here I need , other than a good laugh to watch people argue even though they agree. Lmao

But there was a lot of complaining around the flight model, so that's why I mentioned it. With the vitriol that was flying around in the original Flight forum, still online if anyone feels like seeing how vicious some posters on this site can be, certain posters were moaning about all and sundry just because Flight didn't contain their "big jets". 🙄 Give people power to really test their personality.

October 22, 20196 yr I think you’d struggle to show any similarities between Flight’s pre-release and MSFS’s pre-release aside from just random suspicion.

We simmers didn't quite get the message, so there was animosity towards Microsoft as a result. Flight was actually some fun for many of us, but it wasn't intended as a serious simulator. Microsoft has been very direct in telling us that Dos Equis is a simulator, and their videos and interviews confirm this. And this topic is beating a dead horse. Dos Equis?

Or do you mean that people went back to FS9 when they couldn't properly run FSX? But FSX is still widely popular, and it's been what, 13 years after its release? And it's still got one of the best offline ATC implementations out there, and seasons... they must have done *something* right 🙂 Cheers! Interested in real world general aviation? October 22, 20196 yr At Raymond Groenendijk This is what killed MS Flight (among others): • Arcade flight model I think you covered this one in your post on the next page. . . “Well yes and I personally thought the flight models felt way better than FSX.” • Restricted scenery What do you mean? I have the whole world to fly in! • Only light GA aircraft, not even a twin prop let alone jets I can show you a twin Baron B58 in my Flight. • Dead world, no AI, no ATC, no road traffic... True, but it was a work-in-progress, dang isn’t that what they are calling MSFS)! • Having to pay for new scenery and planes So no more 3rd party Dev.’s ? • No 3rd party support Wrong, they have converted FSX planes into Flight! This is what MSFS offers: • A really proper flight model from what we've heard (competing with X-Plane) “what we've heard” • The whole world in never seen before detail “what we've heard” and seen a little of. • All sorts of aircraft (we've already been shown twins and jets) “All sorts of aircraft” not at start. • There will be AI, ATC, road and ship traffic and probably fauna (some maybe after launch) • We'll get the whole world in the base package (at least the offline part) • They're already working together with 3rd parties So you can be sure this won't be a new MS Flight. I do hope they took a look at the things that made MS Flight a fun experience though: • Being able to walk around • Trees swaying in the wind • It had some nice missions and things for us to do • The multiplayer experience was fun • (I probably forgot some) “Arcade flight model” J. R.
October 22, 20196 yr FAOD I wasn’t trying to be snide, I just can’t believe that anyone who has paid any attention at all to what Microsoft/ asobo/ this forum have been saying would think this will be like Flight.

The fact that you've hacked up your FLIGHT install and garnered some extra features is not an argument or a way forward for the flight simulator community. Further, what's the point? FLIGHT is simply not a large leap graphically (or even a leap at all in many respects) over what we have in P3D, never mind all the other missing features. As to the "what we've heard" stuff, I guess all those content creators who admitted they were ready to trash MSFS until they tried it could be lying, but they've all played it hands on and confirm those points. And to be more general about the lead up to both sims, there's just no comparison. The MSFS team have been more transparent than any AAA developer in recent memory. No one ever gives hands on a year out to content creators, yet MS did that. With FLIGHT, there were no road maps, weekly updates, and they played coy on major features right up until release. It's apples and hand grenades in difference. Even going more recent to DTG's flight simulator, I said from the beginning that their lack of transparency would doom them. That stuff matters.
