It is basically an automated way of doing what you are doing, BUT it will automatically dial the sim rate back so that the airplane can properly maneuver. Ever notice that if you go over 4x that the plane can move off the course line and then start making large corrections back and forth overshooting it's intended course while trying to get back on track? Auto cruise fixes that. It'll slow down, let the plane make the turn, and then speed up again. You can actually walk away and not worry about the plane losing it's mind. I’m surprised the NGXU doesn’t have the jump ahead feature as another add-on(from a different developer) has implemented already...I really do enjoy that jump ahead feature, I usually take off, get to cruise, level off And fly 100 nm or so, jump ahead to about 500nm from my destination and carry on. November 12, 20196 yr Some people just want to fly real world routes, Howard. Personally, I would not even dream of using "jump ahead" or "time compression" features in a simulator, but that's just me. November 12, 20196 yr Well... The airplane is finally self contained. I figured out how to use the performance app in the EFB, and I can now do all of the flight and performance calculations from within the cockpit. This includes something new for me, which is the ability to calculate takeoff performance using assumed temperature. From what I understand, something like Topcat was required to do that before. I can plan the entire flight using the route string and flight level that I get off of Flightaware and the ASP4 weather request. All I need to do is make up a ZFW and stick that in the FMS for the pax and cargo load. Pretty cool stuff. i9-10850K, ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS (WI-FI), 32GB G.SKILL DDR4-3603 / PC4-28800, GIGABYTE RTX5080 16GB WF OC 3 FAN running 3440x1440

Same here and I suspect most of PMDG's customers would fall into this category. Bruceb Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." Bruceb Perhaps, but then why include the smart time compression feature..Wouldn't that fall in a similar category as the jump ahead feature? BTW, not complaining that it wasn’t included or anything of the sorts, I’m just generally surprised it’s not being implemented in other add-ons thats all. November 14, 20196 yr Author I've made my personal decision. If an update to NGXu would have cost 30 bucks, I would have bought it, of course. But so I'll keep my loved "old" PMDG 737 at study level. I already own the Aerosoft A320, beautiful textures and best for a fast after-work flight. And since I want to continue studying the Airbus anyway, I prefer to spend my money on the upcoming A321 from FSL to have an uptodate simulator-airplane. And then I have Boeing and Airbus at the highest level. And if/when MSFS 2020 comes out, I will decided on my own which addon will end up in my hangar. Thank you all for the suggestions and opinions, which all come to the same conclusion: we love flying... November 14, 20196 yr I asked for refund due to the fact that the NGXu didn't turned out as I expected. I also wrote a list of BUGs / small issues, some present in the older NGX. Didn't get it. So I'll wait for the black friday sale, maybe there's 20% off. But even if not, after reading hundreds of forum posts, I think the FSL A320 is really worth its money.
