Way too dark, what some people do with shaders and say that looks real, really gets me.  Heck even PBR is over the top sometimes. Wow, knock down that shine a bit.

MSFS may not even be too far off with night lighting. In the comparison video there are some really decent shots where the light is not as bright as in the San Francisco shot. Maybe downtown is just brighter, like in reality.

Happy with MSFS 🙂

When I got back into flight simming a few years ago, I almost bought XP, but instead, I invested in some payware addons for FSX. After seeing the comparison video posted earlier, and knowing what's coming down the pipe with MSFS, I'm happy with my decision. 😎👍

Come on guys. Again, please don't quote videos. They will be removed.  And please don't start any more arguments.

If you don't agree with someone, you can say so without starting another string of arguments. Snide, smart aleck comments will be removed.

Thank you.

Rick

The tree and grass issues are well known and I have no doubt Asobo and MS are aware of it. Without a doubt I think that during the cycles of Alpha's, Beta's, and final release it will be taken care of.

Thank you.

Watch the 747 take off video again (can’t remember which video it is) and you’ll see the light from the windows on the other side of the cabin plus chair backs through the windows.

I was able to figure out it's from Episode 3 (Aerodynamics)

Thanks!

I waited for 20 years to see a flight simulator to come to this and finally it does. Absolutely outstanding!

I have been waiting 40 plus years to see a sim like this. I got my PPL before there was such a thing.

That picture is not a joke.  That's actually an aircraft he's done.

Oh boy. I just checked, that's indeed an aircraft he's done. And that was only 6 months ago.

What about the pushback scene? Is the game at fast speed or pushback needs to be slowed down?

That threw me off too. The jetway moved so fast, but service trucks seemed normal. So I dont know if its editing or what. But now I'll go with video editing

The fast pushback was jarring but I'm certain that is just a value which hasn't been tweaked yet.  Alpha is about getting features implemented, beta is about tweaking said features to polish them over.  Stuff like rapid pushbacks, AI planes slamming on landings, and tall trees are exactly the kinds of things which get addressed during a beta phase.

In my 25+ years of software development I've never heard of an alpha build, what is that? Please explain....

If the latest video is using a recent build (which I suspect it is) and it still shows issues of tree scale then that means they've made little or no progress on that issue.

It might be that they don't consider tree scale an issue at all, which is a worry.

I'm not sure what I have been reading over the last few pages of this thread, I think I've woken up into some kind of alternative Universe.🚑

I have a feeling those portions were just sped up for the sake of time.

Oh that has to be sped up in the video. I also noticed the jetways were sped up too as one other shot with the walking worker was slower.

Will MSFS do a better Skyhawk? I don’t know. Neither do you. We will find out soon enough.

For me, it does not even have to be better. If it comes close to X-Plane, that's fine for me. If it happens to be superior, great!

I know there will always be some flaws. The forward slipping issue just bugs me a little, as it is something I use from time to time IRL (in contrast to stalls 😄 ). If MS gets that done, I'd be more than happy!

Happy with MSFS 🙂
