what classic airliner would you like to fly in MSFS, for me it would be the Boeing 737-200 and the Boeing 727-100/200.

Favorite growing up, would have be the whisperjet. As I had a 4 foot long one lol

Others would say, And I'll agree, classic is much older, the Connie, and the dehavilland comet. 

If we're talking about classic airliners, the DC-3.  The Boeing people have the 247 from the same era (so they won't feel left out). 🙂

I'd really like to see a detailed Boeing 247. It was rapidly eclipsed by the DC 2 and DC 3 of course, but for a brief time it was fairly influential and as a design it shared its lines with the B 17, so it is undeniably a very handsome aeroplane.

Il-62, Tu134, Tu154.

I'd go for a 707 as it ushered in the jet age of airliners, but I prefer propliners.

The DC-3 has the advantage in that there are still some in commercial service today.  Including a Buffalo Airways livery is a must.  And you can even still get type rated on the DC-3. 😄

My first real flight was in a 727 from NYC to West Palm Beach in 1969. the very week of the 1st moon landing.  But little did I know that sitting in the rear of the plane was like having lawn mower-like engine noises in stereo.  Didn't make that mistake on my next flight.  But I still have a  special affinity for that  little aircraft.

By the way, I was able to exit thru the rear steps of the plane (later closed-up thanks to D.B. Cooper),and stepped right onto the tarmac with a blast of the Florida mid-summer heat and humidity...

I love the use of the word "classic". It means different things to different people.

You could argue that the 747-400 is a classic. Already a rare sighting at some locations and soon to be at most.

Concorde was in so many ways.

The Mad Dogs (DC9 series, not the 717 puurrleeease!) definitely fall into the category for me.

707 most definitely.

727, any variant.

737 classic (3/4/500). Not the Jurassic 1/200.

L1011 Tristar for sure.

Even the 757 will be a classic for many soon.

No piston or turbo props really cut it for me, sorry.

Many commercial pilots I know list the 727 and 757 as their favourites. The latter on a ferry flight is something to behold. Overpowered... just slightly.

To the best of anyone's knowledge, are there going to be any airliners (classic or not) in MSFS out of the box, or will we have to wait for the 3rd party devs to step up?

Talking about classic jets, lets's not forget the European ones like the Trident and the Caravelle which were quite common this side of the pond.
