Xtreme Prototypes New Learjet v3.0 Test Flight

Featured Replies

I had the chance this afternoon to test fly the upcoming v3.0 of the Xtreme Prototypes Learjet 25, my route was Santiago de Compostela (LEST) Airport to Almería (LEAL) Airport, both available from PILOT'S.

Absolutely gobsmacked by the high detail in their latest rendition of this insanely fast business jet!

Doing a quick walk-around before departure.

The aircraft features various clickable hot spots, such as on the stairs for example to add or remove the cockpit crew.

The dynamic lighting effects are really superb!

The Learjet features PBR effects, as do some of the airport surfaces.

The Santiago de Compostela region can have some very unpredictable weather, luckily it was dry this afternoon with good visibility.

Lined up and ready for take-off! The GTN 750 is fully supported, and there are numerous configurations available, also for the GNS 530 and Milviz's weather radar.

The Learjet 25 climbs like a fighter jet, a watchful eye is needed to prevent any overspeed.

The GTN 750 has calculated the exact TOD for the selected STAR into Almería.

The mountain range to the right is part of the Paraje Natural Sierra Alhamilla.

The area around Almería features extensive photo imagery and blends very well with the default scenery.

Turning towards the coast and getting ready to intercept the ILS.

The unmistakable silhouette of the Learjet, cleared to land on Runway 25 at LEAM.

Now moments from touchdown, the dynamic lighting effects on the fuselage are spectacular!

Touchdown! I thoroughly enjoy hand-flying the Lear on final approach.

Looks like the Lear is not the only business jet today at Almería Airport.

The dynamic lighting really adds to the immersion and compliments the exquisite detail of this latest version of the Xtreme Prototypes Learjet.

The parking position is close to the tower and main terminal, the lighting and textures look really great!

I hope you enjoyed the screenshots of my short flight from Santiago de Compostela to Almería!

Website now live - release coming soon!

Offers an upgrade price for existing users.  Nice.  Version 2 already had the most detailed virtual cockpit

Certainly  a 'day 1 purchase for me' - although I note the speed hold is still there in the redesigned autopilot panel.  I’ll have to try to avoid that for realism purposes but sometimes its difficult with this rocketship!

It's been "Live" for over a month now, but I agree, I'll be getting this update as soon as it's released as well!

Don't know if anyone replied to you already but with the 2.1 release auto-throttles were simulated, but many in the community did not agree with this since this model did not have auto-throttles IRL, so I imagine that SPD-P might be a pitch mode where the AC will try to maintain speed with elevator pitch and the user will have to control power manually to desired climb or descent rate (more realistic).
