June 19, 20205 yr @Cannow, Don't you see "stutter" out the side windows with that internal limit - that it always my test for "smooth"? I tried 33 for WMR Reverb and didn't like it very much but at 60 or so, it was better. I'll keep trying - I thought the ASW (WMR reprojection) would be better enabled but as per your recommendation, maybe not. I am hoping that with HF2, maybe some sort of frametime smoothness fix. I record the individual frametimes with FRAPS for each frame and plot it. During VR, it seems that it is "hunting" back and forth in WMR SteamVR mode - big 5 to 10 millisecond swings with just about every frame - not good. Many other VR applications are really smooth ( very low frametime variance ). I have tried RTSS as well - not much help. Thanks Dave W. October 30, 20205 yr Everyone is going to be a bit different. Drop the lod radius down, cloud draw distance down etc until you get acceptable to you FPS. Obviously image clarity will suffer but such is the trade off for VR. Hard to say what the issue is without knowing a whole lot about the computer, the headset settings, P3D settings etc. a lot of things can ruin a vr experience. This happens if one overdoes it with the supersampling settings. They need to be lowered in that case until the right balance between FPS and image clarity is reached.
November 14, 20205 yr Software devs like PDMG don't build any payware aircraft with VR in mind. The system DLLs alone with these study level tubeliners can be a tax on the already very taxing VR performance also. Some software dev's focus just isn't "vr optimization nor compatibility" You gotta expect some FPS loss with such products in VR. Aerosoft Carenado and PDMG aircraft unfortunately. I very much doubt your statement. Most of the recent aircraft addons are perfectly suited for VR. Once you experience them in VR you will realize how well-done those 3D cockpits are. Yes, VR may cause some FPS loss (depending on the VR headset resolution) but the VR experience is so much better than any flat cockpit representation. Nothing feels closer to RW flying than in VR. VR is the way to go in flight simulation! You doubt my statement but you've fail to give any specific counter, besides the general stuff we already know about VR. Please don't quote me and then just talk just to talk. Show me VR optimized aircraft for the following titles. Show me exactly where the dev stated" vr optimized" for a payware aircraft for P3D,XP11,FSX,MSFS. Meanwhile I have a whole documented source from several users that backs up what I've stated and I've also been doing pretty much of just that for the past 3 years, testing several payware aircraft in VR. Oh I'll wait... Oh I'll wait... Oh la la, don‘t feel offended, and there is no need to be rude at all. I just mentioned my opinion, which is one of thousands about this topic. Besides, I didn‘t state that the aircraft are „VR optimized“. They probably aren‘t but many are very well suited for VR. As you obviously know, all the work put into the 3D modelling of the cockpits finally comes to shine in VR. Had some small issues here and there. I still prefer the V5 VR experience to the other sims out there.
