April 23, 20206 yr Finally got this sim running....and TrackIR operational yay! It's sad that I can fly a hi-tacan approach but not know how to use the weapons lol. I have to work on that. Anyway, departing Nellis off to the NW (I think its called Dreamland), a little ACM, then direct LSV, outbound and PT for HI TACAN RWY 03R. I seriously had a nice green AoA and approach was awesome...touchdown fine. And apparently, I do not have what it takes....to stop on the runway HAHAHA. route by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-1 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-3 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-4 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-6 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-7 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-8 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-9 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-10 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-11 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-12 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-14 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-15 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-16 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-17 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-18 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-19 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-20 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-21 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-22 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

April 23, 20206 yr Super set of shots Ryan! Bert, It's DCS World using the Nevada map and F-16. April 23, 20206 yr Things like that happen when you wander off the grey bit and on to the light brown bit, Ryan! . One has to learn to fly the plane before one learns to fight it. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't referring to your overrun. Nothing wrong with being able to fly the plane, but not the weapons platform. DCS does look rather good! April 23, 20206 yr Fantastic set of shots, Ryan, having seen the F-16 close up and been at Nellis as a guest of a USAF to see the display team there. Rick Almeida
April 26, 20206 yr I can't believe how well DCS runs on my computer, at full spec too. It's a great sim, and you've got some great shots, Ryan. But I don't own a track IR, and I'm starting to think I'll need to get one to really enjoy this sim. It's a heck of a fun free demo they're giving us though. 🙂
April 27, 20206 yr ***Awesome Set of Shots*** Stay away from The Casinos....Your Landings will get Better😁 100%75%50%d8a34be0e82d98b5a45ff4336cd0dddc Patrick
April 28, 20206 yr I was thinking yes up until that last image lol. I hear ya on DCS, I can fly the most complex aircraft in P3D with my eyes closed but give me a complex weapons platform to figure out and it’s like a whole other language. Then layer on trying to kill something that doesn’t want to die and in return wants to kill me and I end up dying a lot. April 29, 20206 yr Through all the P3D's...I have never loaded up any military aircraft. Question to any and all...can you fire any weapons...do they visually launch from under the wing..A to A, A to G missiles...if you run an Academic license?
April 29, 20206 yr From what I can see, I believe you need TacPack from VRS to do that, as I would do with FSX.. (I can't even jettison stores from the SWS Phantom for example..) The DCS boys and girls are laughing at me I know.. https://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=132941 https://www.vrsimulations.com/tacpack.php Mark Robinson Part-time Ferroequinologist Author of FLIGHT: A near-future short story (ebook available on amazon) I made the baby cry - A2A Simulations L-049 Constellation Sky Simulations MD-11 V2.2 Pilot. May 1, 20206 yr If it makes you feel any better about your landing, I decided to try the harrier and spent 20 minutes getting it ready for take off in one of the first training missions and then taxied it into the grass and got stuck, mission over (couldn't find the nose wheel steering button, then really found it). 😂 Dave Current System (Running at 4k): ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F, Ryzen 7800X3D, RTX 5090, 55" Samsung Q80T, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, EVGA CLC 280mm AIO Cooler, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS & Stick, Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant & Add-on, VirtualFly Ruddo+, TQ6+ and Yoko+, GoFlight MCP-PRO and EFIS, Skalarki FCU and MCDU
