May 9, 20206 yr Just an FYI -- for those that use UTL, the 2.0 version is almost ready for Open Beta -- if you are a member of the UTL Support forum, see http://ultimatetraffic.flight1.net/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=18369&PID=84559&title=developer-update-on-utl2-8-may#84559 If not, below is a Youtube video of PowerPack 2.0 which is built into UTL now -- Please don't post comments about AIG -- I am not interested in using that. Looks like the long wait is almost over (we all hope)..... May 9, 20206 yr Do I have to purchase UTL v1 to have access to the beta for v2? I assume I would have to. It looks like it's better to wait until version 2 is out before purchasing a traffic utility. Do you all agree? FAA: ATP-ME, 737 CA, enough time in the 757/767 to be dangerous 🤠 Matt Kubanda, 7950X3D, 64GB RAM, RTX 5090@4k, MSFS 2024
May 9, 20206 yr Haha, after all this time a public beta is all we get? My bet: this will remain beta for another two to three years. To be fair, until recently, UT2 served me for many years, I can still not understand, why they not simply developed UT2 further instead of this UTLive always Beta stuff... May 9, 20206 yr I agree, I have tried them all; was beta tester of UTL, tried AILive, tried PSXseecon, and AIG AIM is where I will stay. While UTL is great with an intuitive interface, AIG AIM really offers all of that as well. I guess you can't go wrong with both but as others have said, just how long is this program staying in Beta? system i9 10850K NVidia RTX3090 24GB Samsung SSD980 m.2 1TB (x2) Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD Seagate 2TB external drive Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250GB SSD Asus B460M-PLUS Mobo 32GB GSkill DDR4 3000mhz Ram using P3D v5.3
May 9, 20206 yr Even if they do release this it'll just be a disaster and stuck in infinite beta hell.

May 9, 20206 yr Lets face it, the only real advantage of UT products is that AI follows some kind of airways and not basic A to B as .bgl based traffic. Everything else you get with AIGAIM. May 9, 20206 yr I might try UT live 1 again with v5, but the pace of development has been glacial. You can't think about traffic in 2020 without mentioning AIG - which I know OP doesn't want to hear about! - but if you're thinking of giving UT "Live" 2 perma-beta a try, the obvious question is what is better about it compared to the freeware. For most, AIG will be a far better solution. The reason I have been thinking of dusting off UT "Live" 1 is that AIG does take a minute or two to load, and also provides very little GA. My concern with anything UT-related is that it will once again be abandoned. May 9, 20206 yr One thing I really like about UTL is that once you spend a ton of time adding liveries, you can pretty much forget about anything else. You start P3D and then you have AI. I see a lot of folks talking about AIG. Well, what's the benefit over UTL? Is it easier to add liveries? Is it easier to add schedules? Not being sarcastic, but basically what's so good about AIG over UTL? "I am the Master of the Fist!" -Akuma

AIG: has a better selection of AI models uses AI models that come with soundpacks has more up-to-date liveries has more up-to-date schedules is easier to add / update / remove / delete paints and schedules has more chance of being updated in a respectable timeframe is FREE (please donate though). Those are plenty of reasons for people (me included) to have chucked UTL into the bin.
