Recommendation for EGLL scenery

Featured Replies

My vote is for Simwings - I think both are looking a little tired (when compared to some other high quality examples such as FlayTampa EHAM or some of the FSDT airports) but to me UK2000 just looks a little more....dated

I think i'm leaning more and more towards the LHR professional edition.. i just checked the uk2000 airports and they do seem very outdated.. may have to deal with the fps hit in other ways..

also was looking for a BA widebody hub for trans atlantic flights.. so LHR is more suited than gatwick i guess...

Very much so, if you are looking for a BA widebody hub too.

My vote for UK2000. More FPS friendly in a traditionally very congested area.

In general, I don't have good experience with Aerosoft scenery, mainly due to lack of a good support, as the forum is not a direct one on which you can interact directly with the developer. Most questions remain without an answer for a long time, on my experience.

Even more so now as BA have pulled out of Gatwick and may never return...

This is not true anymore. The most recent version of Heathrow Professional both looks and performs better than the UK2000 one.

I know that was different in the past but things change.

I had to uninstall UK2000 version anyway. The London area is still very congested to get good enough FPS on both of my systems.

Still amazed we don't have a Flightbeam/Fly Tampa level quality EGLL. TBH, both current versions only rise to the "it's okay" level and are dated with no native v4.5 SDK design attributes such as PBR, etc...

Agreed - Thats what I was suggesting above. For a major hub it's a shame no other high quality developer hasn't really tackled it. I would have thought a new version no to FT quality would sell really well given how dated the existing two option are and how big LHR is for global traffic.

My recommendation is Aerosoft. I enjoy it a lot.

I do not know freeware for EGLL in P3D, unfortunately, there is SimWings one and UK2000 one and that's it, also, for terrian I recommend ORBX True Earth GB South.
