July 1, 20205 yr Well I thought id give this driver another go. But failed miserable stayed with the previous one. same settings scenery, aircraft asp3d etc etc sim was lagging and vram went from 5.9 to 7.1 . Fsdt klax mike
July 1, 20205 yr Anyone else notice this? And also a script error after installing the 451.48 driver mike

July 1, 20205 yr I also got the script error after installation, but it was after the dialog box said successfully installed. It seems like it installed OK, and I do have the scheduling option in display settings. I think it updates better that way? Did not allow it to install an nVidia driver suggestion but installed the 451.48 later Smooth as goose down, no problems so far knock on feathered wood Edited July 1, 20205 yr by peppy197
July 4, 20205 yr So I did some long haul testflights with the new driver and GPU Hardware accel. set to on in windows 2004 I am mainly flying VR. So my flights where all done in VR. I even left my VR HMD activated also if I am not having my HMD on my head. Just to see who stable my system is, if there are any issues and so far and so on. I think that I roughly flew 30 hours in total to test this setting "on". The GPU Hardw. Acc. to on did not brought me any FPS increase or decrease. But I did notice the following: My FPS where more stable and not having so much spikes (max and min FPS where "more together" My GPU Load and VRAM load did increase significantly (VRAM +1.5 to 2GB - Load from somewhere between 25 and 50% up to somewhere between 60 and 100%) I hade some spikes in the "copy graph sector of the windows taskmanager GPU graphs). Spikes that did occur every x seconds/minutes and got completely up to the top of the graph. I mean the Graph of the standard windows taskmanager on the GPU section in the top right corner) Theses spikes did influence my scenery loading. If scenery loads in mostly I had a stutter/very short freeze in my sim. One stutter that lasts round about maximum 1/2 - 1 Second and my WMR VR did stup "rendering" in that time (VR WMR Steam Graph with the "green rendering" graph where you can see the fps in milliseconds being rendered) 3 and 4 where gone as soon as I disabled the GPU Hardware Accel. seeting wich I will now test the next hours and days. Disabling this GPU Hardware Accel. setting did reduce VRAM am GPU load again AND let my FPS hover a bit more in wider ranges. But my sim is still fluid and scenery does load in without having these short stutter/freeze Others experiences now the driver is longer on the market? Well, some meassures seem to have identical "behaviours" like I mentioned in my post. I am referring to the FrameTimeSpikes. These I had also on my end and they where noticable also as "short freezes" in the sim. Also I am having this i9 10900k CPU, which also seems to be "not yet" havibng good resulties compared to cpu´s which are more running at the edge of their capacity. So, this is why I tunned off the new function but will surely check it out every time the drivers are getting updated. Marcus Regards, Marcus P.
