Really amazing how some folks automatically think "post launch service" means it'll be a subscription lol

Let’s look at it another way then, why do you think it’s not available prior to launch? Not even for testing purposes.

Im on the fence myself, but we can’t rule out that it’s not some sort of DLC. We’ve had months of discussions on these forums about subscriptions and MS/Asobo continue to fuel it by not confirming these things given there’s a large number of people that believe there could be.

With every new update I ask myself, how are the other sims going to compete?

Tree scale still not fixed...  I guess this post will also get deleted like my last post 5 mins ago. 🙄

Maybe they’re not? From Austin’s interview the other day it seems they feel they don’t need to compete.
And then you get P3D. They still use 10+ year old autogen. So, different market again....

I believe MSFS = gaming?

P3D = training

XP = commercial market?

Matthew! Every post I see from you lately is about trees. Imma' start thinking you is a squirrel!  🤭🤗

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

I get it! Most of us already have P3D & XP11. But, in the future is going to be a lot harder to convince simmers to purchase add-ons for the legacy sims once this bad boy is released.

IMO all three are flightsims.

Don't forget it's still in alpha. A lot of improvements still to come and to me it already looks great.

We can still enjoy P3D & XP11, even while it matures.

One is 360p and another is 480p, the other three are 720p. You can download them from the links I've placed below the YouTube embedded videos for the full quality.

Keep in mind that those videos are captured by Alpha testers, and that the video resolution is unlikely the same as the rendering resolution. Capturing a video at 1080p or above is not a very easy task if they're using the CPU to encode while running the simulator as well.

The videos are highly compressed because there is a limitation on the size of the video that can be posted to the alpha forums and they don't want anyone uploading to their personal YouTube channel

The new videos today, They actually look like Ortho4XP.

Imagine XP11 loaded with Ortho. Then imagine we could have really good AA and weather. Thats what to me, you're looking at in the videos. I noticed the waves were baked in.

No waves are baked in 🤦🏿‍♂️

Out of all of that paragraph, that’s all you can come up with? Talk about stirring the pot. Seems people like to do that here.

PS, in the second video, if you zoom in, even though it’s compressed to hell, it looks like some of them are. Could be, could not. That’s not really the main point I was getting at anyway. You just bypassed most of the stuff to place a provocative reply.

"Post launch charts service."  I'm not saying the base sim will be a subscription.  But this Charts+ thing looks like a product they'll release after launch of flightsim.   Quite frankly a product which the end user will pay for (service).  I'm not making wild claims here...typically a service is not free.

From what I read the navigation database will be updateable in the sim and this is separate from Charts+

Post launch can just mean it won't be there on the release day.

I'm not saying you are wrong, but makes no sense to keep raising speculations about Microsoft offering subscription services, when their only official statements so far are that they don't plan to have subscriptions and by buying the base sim you will have access to all the sim's features.

Again, unless they say, officially, otherwise, I'm believing everything they are showing will be included out of the box. I mean, usually when something isn't included with the product, the advertisements come with a disclosure saying: "sold separately".

Yes because it's wrong. I'm in the alpha and I've never seen a baked in wave. They move with the wind. You zooming in on a tiny little video and making silly assumptions
