Hi Bert, I just go the premium FS2020 but at Settings, Apps it shows MS FS with a 11.5 MB size not 200 MB. Shall I need to uninstall and reinstall again? Thanks! Cheers Edmundo Azevedo
July 20, 20205 yr Why don't you all wait until the game releases and we get the actual install file before moving stuff around? Seems to me that going into these settings and updating stuff is more likely to hurt more than help in the future. In the Xbox app for me, it clearly gives me the option to denote which drive I want my games installed on, I selected my SSD, boom done. In response to the question from @Peter Webber about purchasing on your laptop and being able to play on your PC, the answer is yes. You have purchased a license from MS that is linked to your MS account - if you log in to the same MS account on different computers, you can download the game and play it wherever you are logged in. Logging in to multiple locations at once will cause you to be logged out of any other location, so you cannot purchase the game once and play it on multiple PCs at the same time. In addition, with Xbox Play Anywhere, purchasing the PC version of MSFS also grants you a license to download and play the game on Xbox when the game is released there. Since the game (or should I say "app"..) is now available for preorder and install, it sure would be nice if Microsoft took the trouble and released an Installation Guide for all us flightsimmers who are not familiar with Xbox Games or the MS Store.. 🙂 Edited July 20, 20205 yr by Bert Pieke Bert

July 22, 20205 yr Thanks to all who gave feedback! I successfully connected my Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB SSD into my motherboard (1st time with zero experience), formatted successfully and changed default drive for Microsoft Store to my new SSD. MSFS is now installed on the SSD. All thanks to the feedback from the AVSIM community. Thanks again. July 23, 20205 yr I plan on purchasing a 2TB Samsung M2 for MSFS2020. Once again....will I be able to direct the program to this SSD without any problems? There seems to be many different opinions and methods on this thread, and I would hope that before this purchase, that I can be confident that this new program can have all the space it needs on my new SSD. Thanks. Stan

Thanks. Stan You sure can. I already have my 200 MB pre-order download directed to a new M.2 drive. Once you open the actual installer on August 18th I'm sure there will be additional data storage options.

When I check my pre-order, it says I'm too early. Stan

Stan Because every other 'game' from the MS Store offers the option to install the actual program, content, and scenery to a drive of the user's choice. What we have now is simply the 'launcher application' that will allow us to begin the installation on August 18th. Fr. As n4gix mentioned, once the launcher is opened there will certainly be additional options.
