July 16, 20205 yr I pre-ordered MSFS using my laptop after logging in to my account. I want to install it into my main gaming rig when available for download on release day. Will there be any issue due to purchasing using a different pc? Regards. July 17, 20205 yr Does anyone know the required Windows 10 build version for MSFS 2020? Can a Win 10 LTSC version install it?

I doubt very much that LTSC would work, though this would probably be a question for Microsoft. One of the features of LTSC is that many core system files are locked at an older version for stability, and I’m not sure LTSC supports the Windows Store application, which would probably prevent installing MSFS in the first place. AFAIK, MSFS requires Windows 10 2004 or 1909. 1903 might work, but I don’t know that for sure. Curious why you are running LTSC on a computer you intend to use for gaming? Are you using your home machine for a running a critical business app, or for controlling machinery? July 17, 20205 yr The Windows Store does work on LTSC with a manual installation of it. I play Forza Horizon 4 on an LTSC version, though many other games do require a newer build than what the latest LTSC has. So I'm sure MSFS 2020 will require a newer build than LTSC. As far as why I use LTSC, it's to start with the least bloatware OS possible. I also plan on only using Windows for games in the future and making Linux my main everyday OS.
July 17, 20205 yr If you go to the Microsoft Flight Simulator web site and read what is there most of your questions will be answered (not all) but they do state that the requirement is for windows 1909. so I guess that also means 2004. So no any other versions apparently are not suitable. Also late drivers will be a must I would think.

"You can upgrade from Windows 10 LTSC to Windows 10 semi-annual channel, provided that you upgrade to the same or a newer build version. For example, Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB can be upgraded to Windows 10 Enterprise version 1607 or later. Upgrade is supported using the in-place upgrade process (using Windows setup). You will need to use the Product Key switch if you want to keep your apps. If you don't use the switch the option 'Keep personal files and apps' will be grayed out." https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/upgrade/windows-10-upgrade-paths

I tried moving to my Samsung external 1TB SSD drive Bert and this is what shows up. Any idea where to go from here? Thanks John Snyder Jr Edited July 17, 20205 yr by John Snyder Jr John Snyder Jr
July 17, 20205 yr Nevermind Bert, I got it, you have to format the SSD Drive to NTFS. John Snyder Jr John Snyder Jr
July 18, 20205 yr Same error message here: "This app is not supported on the target drive's filesystem." I have had this Samsung 2TB SSD drive for over a year now, and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is the first program that didn't like the way it was formatted. Picky picky picky...it better be worth it... Just a head's up, if you buy a new SSD drive for MSFS2020. Choose NTFS format and not exFAT. So I was able to clear 400 GB on my D drive. Hope that will be enough for the Deluxe version. Edited July 18, 20205 yr by dobee51 poor grammar

I currently have my Alpha FS20 installed on a separate SSD. its currently 89.9 Gig. While the install file from the Microsoft store is stored at its default location. its currently 800mb. You need to update 😂 Edited July 19, 20205 yr by awf André
July 19, 20205 yr Thanks for the topic, this might come in handy later on... ...But i find all these things as more reasons of why i would have been super happy if it was being released on Steam as well >.> Chock 1.1: "The only thing that whines louder than a jet engine is a flight simmer."
