As a French, I strongly encourage you to buy all the three variants of the sim, once now and maybe once more at Xmas. Six copies will look very professional on your shelves. People will envy you. Here is a serious simmer, they will say, I can trust him. Girls will be impressed too by your collection. You’ll be the king of your ‘hood !

You're right, but OP isn't entirely wrong as well. If FSX would've generated money, they probably wouldn't have gotten rid of them and the franchise.

No, FSX generated money.  The cancellation had nothing to do with finances.

Did it generate enough money over the course of the years though? This is something they'll tackle with the marketplace now.

So yeah... we don't have to run and fund them by preordering. 😉 First they are confident that their work will speak for itself. Second - marketplace.

It was the addon developers that kept FSX and FS alive not MS, but for them you would have no market.

All joking aside, though, I would suggest just keeping calm and tempering your expectations until release day. The amount of hype and hysteria around this title is approaching unsafe levels.

Well... in my case my expectations were far exceeded long months ago (and I'm not talking about watching videos).

Anyway.. everybody is free to choose between constructive criticism / provide feedback or adopt positions like this sim is a joke, all preorder people are just  blind fans..., I will not buy if they not fix this by then, , and so.

I am an flight sim enthusiast. This sim has the potential to be something special. Something I never thought was possible. 

So I have a very simple question really. Do you want this sim to succeed? You either do, like me or you can say -meh, I rather play mine craft or fruit ninga.

Just because Microsoft is a very large company, don't think for one second that financials are not important.

Microsoft has cancelled and fired their entire flight sim department before. No one can honestly say it will never happen again.

I am going to give my support to them and I urge all other flight enthusiasts that want to give this sim the best possible chance to succeed to do so also.

@lancealotg, I agree with you on the basic premise that the sim is a welcome breath of fresh air and has the potential to be something special. I think we are all hoping is meets and exceeds expectations, if not initially, then in the long run. Personally I think the sim will eventually meet even some of the loftier expectations especially as 3rd party content becomes available. 

But in all seriousness, think about the other side of the coin for a moment. If we show some love the the devs and all go out and pre-order the premium edition, what will the potential blowback look like IF the release comes with not just minor bugs and issues, but glaring deficiencies that fail to meet basic expectations?....I'm not even talking about the astronomical expectations that have been built on a brilliant marketing campaign. IF that were to occur, the post-release "weeping and gnashing of teeth" will be far worse.
