Support the developers !!!

The more that I thought about it, I shouldn't have been surprised by the 18 August release date. With so many people still at home because of the pandemic, MS probably wanted to take advantage of that captive audience. This also gives them a few months to openly test the sim before the Christmas burying season hits full force.

I think of it as an investment. When you invest in something, there is a risk but with high risk comes high reward. I am willing to support them in the beginning when they would need it most.

You don't invest in a startup company after it has become successful, you take a chance and invest in the beginning if you believe in the startup. I believe the developers are flight sim enthusiasts like me and many people on this board.

If there are glaring deficiencies that are not able to be overcome, I can hold my head up high knowing I supported them best I could. Sure there is a risk, life is a risk.

I understand not everyone can afford to do that, absolutely no shame in that. We all are at different stages in our lives.

You want to invest in a game? seriously? You cannot invest in Asobo as they are not a public company

And Asobo is not a startup company. They have been going since 2002,and has developed 17 video games, including video game adaptations of the Pixar movies Ratatouille, WALL-E, Up, and Toy Story 3

As far as supporting the developers, they are not a charity.

Rather invest in a $1trillion company such as MSFT, A single share is about $202.00

Not, that's worth investing in, as you get a return on that. Investing in a game? Nope, you buy a game.

Neither Asobo nor Microsoft are startups.  You want to support "the developers" then buy a few other Asobo games, and pick up the entire Microsoft Office while you're at it, even if you only want the Excel spreadsheet.

MSFS will succeed or fail on its own merits regardless of our support or lack of it.  Believing something doesn't make it true, and believing harder won't affect reality.

As a French, I strongly encourage you to buy all the three variants of the sim, once now and maybe once more at Xmas. Six copies will look very professional on your shelves. People will envy you. Here is a serious simmer, they will say, I can trust him. Girls will be impressed too by your collection. You’ll be the king of your ‘hood !

Literally made my day. 🤣

Simple people would suggest to buy something from Microsoft to support them.

Indeed, buy Microsoft shares! That's an investment, not buying a game..

So how many of Asobo's other games have you bought to support them?

You don't think it is possible for Asobo to support games that help the bottom line vs ones that don't?

It is not an all or nothing thing.

If you don't want to support this title which looks to be the best flight simulator I have ever seen, that up to you.

Reminds me when a local restaurant closes down and after the fact everyone says, I should have gone there more often.

So your actual point is to support the TITLE, not the DEVELOPERS.

I think my multiple posts praising what I've seen in the Alpha, even to the point of getting comments about NDA violations, may already prove my support for MSFS.

That being said, I still have no intention of buying anything until I see the release version.  I'll still be flying the Alpha/Beta, and hopefully still posting things that put various people's fears to rest.

I also heavily supported Microsoft Flight, even to the point of buying all the DLC, and you see where that got us.  Microsoft pulled the plug anyway.  Flight didn't fail, Microsoft failed, by expecting to go to the RT operating system which also eventually failed.  But that's another story.

When you support the Title, you ARE supporting the developers.

Just think about the Airbus that had been developed for the FSX back then in, I guess, 2009 or 2010? I don't remember the name of the publisher, but everything was so promising and everyone was thinking we get an addon on pmdg or fslabs level, but if I remember correctly, according to review, it didn't even reach the aerosoft level.

So I am quite optimistic, too. However, as I read the offer a Game Pass Version. So you could get the first month for 1 Dollar and the next for 5. But the MSFS FAQ says, the cheapest way is to buy the version you finially want. So with Game Pass you can only get Standard. How much more would I need to pay to get Premium? I think they will charge more than the differerence, when they state so in the FAQ.

Removed unnecessary long quote!

If I understand it correctly (no guarantee of that), if you get Game Pass you can try MSFS and any other game that is available there for no extra charge.

If you decide you like MSFS then you can purchase the version you prefer and drop Game Pass if you have no further use for it.

Sort of like paying $1 for a demo version of MSFS. 🙂

Hey you can support Asobo by getting one of their other titles as well. May I recommend A Plague Tale: Innocence? It is really unique and quite excellent. And available on GamePass for just $1 the first month! ....Oh dear, that doesn’t help does it?
