Hey I’m enjoying them as well 🙂 they’re keeping me sane while waiting on this last stretch and still not having Alpha access! But it’s the pretty obvious step they’d need to take to keep ahold of all of these leaks should they want to

So the boxed version, at least is printed and ready for release, and that includes base scenery and aircraft.  Normally it would have been the Release Candidate that got pressed on DVD, but apparently the developers put most of their effort into the alpha, with the hope that only a limited Beta test would be needed to eliminate the remaining bugs. Does that sound about right?

The box version will still have a required online update the moment you install it to bring it to the newest version.

I have some doubt about this, the conifers can even be 10-50 meters high. Could be interesting to compare with the real airports.

Can't be absolutely certain, but I'd estimate those trees to be approximately one hundred and fifty feet tall. This is based on the fact that we can see some three-storey buildings, which on average would be somewhere around fifty feet tall; since the trees appear to be about three times the buildings in height, this puts them in that one hundred and fifty foot size region.

Whilst that does make the trees on the large side, it is not ludicrously oversized, but it could perhaps do with some toning down a bit. A pine tree typically grows to about eighty feet in height; some species of pine can make it up to about one hundred and fifty feet, but this is not typical. There are some species of tree which can make it as tall as three hundred and eighty feet in height, but these are the exception; on average we'd be looking at somewhere around the eighty foot tall mark for most trees anywhere near an urban area.

So yeah, they are a bit overly large, but only a bit.

Yep, the average size is much smaller... Asobo's defaults are way too large. 🙄

Asobo could have easily put a scaling factor in the ".ini" file.... something like "treescale_conifer=.75" so that users can find their own sweet spot, because clearly Asobo doesn't grasp the concept of plausible defaults. 🤔

Just look at the "tropical/rain-forrest"  monstrosities evident in other shots.  They just have no idea 🤦‍♂️

Just like these monstrosities! Sydney is not buried deep in the Amazon 🙄  Though the filename is 1st July so maybe it's fixed in a newer build... but I doubt it.

Thank the maker! I mean - it is a flight simulator. And how do most of us experience flying? By staring out the (side) windows. So there is your most important feature. The millions of "awesome wing view landing at XXXX!!!!" youtube videos prove that I am right 😂.
