I think a lot of people are going to misunderstand this.

For what I use a simulator for, MSFS is going to be head and shoulders above anything else.  If I wanted a procedure trainer, it may not be quite as good.

I've been saying all along, "Don't delete your old flight sim."

I think you can't say that generally. Of course in the beginning with default aircraft it won't be able to be used like that. But neither was any other sim. You gotta let the payware roll in to make a statement.

Happy with MSFS 🙂

I don't know how payware airplane became the default status. I think people have forgotten how awful were the default plane in FSX or XP11.  If you want full simulation airplanes that includes failures simulation, wait for 3rd party. MSFS will be a better sandbox for them. Until them enjoy what comes out of the box.

With release in sight, this mass nda exodia was bound to happen. Happens when lots of clowns who have no business being a flight simmer get invited. Wish you guys could see the Alpha forums. Lots of trolls.

Uh oh. Sorry to hear that. I hope this hasn't impaired the bug reports and important discussions with the team much.

Even more so when an opinion is based on previews and leaked videos of a pre-release product.

Exactly...

Despite any criticism as to the depth of simulation at launch, I think many people see the potential here.

From the beginner...the "cold and dark" guide to whatever advanced simulation 3P Devs will bring in the future....MSFS has cast a wide net with a solid foundation.

Flight sim actually has a future...after being stuck in the past for so looooong.

Well obviously! 😄  When those payware procedure trainers become available, we can all reevaluate our decisions.

I've been saying all along that I suspect we'll see at least one PMDG aircraft for MSFS at or shortly after release of MSFS.

You're right, even with a NDA in place and it's not even the testers which names are on the screenshots, there will unfortunately always be some id..s who don't care if they will be thrown out of the testing this close to release. I just hope that MS can see who's sharing them, and slam them with a fine.

Yes, I wish there was a better way to select who get into the alphas.

Some of the videos that has been leaked clearly shows it's persons who use it as a game, not a sim. I saw one who used more than ½ hour to start a 747 even though he used the built in co pilot and couldn't find out how to turn on the autopilot in the A320 .I'm not saying everyone can do it, but it was clear that they just wanted to take it on a joyride.

I can't wait to see when the youtubers who was in Seattle, starts streaming so we can see a proper flight from start to finish.

I don't always stop and look at airplanes.........Oh wait, Yes I do.

And? What’s wrong with that?

Come one guys. Don't be salty. The game will attract new players and we have to live with that. Don't be so judgmental and welcome them into this new hobby. Some of them will only use the sim with a controller to fly over their house and it's fine. There is nothing wrong with that. If they want to get deeper into the hobby they can.

There is only 4 weeks to wait. That's nothing compare to the 10 years we have been waiting for a new FSX.

While I prefer realism, I still appreciate a broader approach. Cause: why not?!

The live-events seem to be a nice thing (like the "Courchevel landing challenge" in the menu that you could see in one of the leaks).

PS: I am also not concerned by what I've seen in the leaks. The video looks arcady, but I've also seen behavior that indicates a good flight model. I think it just needs a little adjustment (inertia, stability).

Haha... then you are even more optimistic than me.

And, my god, what if people will actually have fun with it? Horrible idea. What is the world coming to? 😄

Alphas are not meant for 'fun'. Sure he can kamehameha the 747 into his house for all I care, once the sim releases.
