Latin VFR KMIA v2 - Huge GPU Memory user?

Featured Replies

I really can't fly out of the Latin VFR KMIA v2 or KMSY as they it suck all my VRam up. With graphic settings at normal (4K) both are using 6.1GB of my 7.1 when I load any plane. Interesting that Latin VFR KBWI takes about 4.1.  Is anyone else experiencing the same?

Thank you in advance!

Bob

Yes, it is very taxing compare to Fsdreamteam or FlyTampa but very nicely done 😉

Same here, Latinvr Kmia v2 is the only one out of all my addon airport sceneries where I get Vram crashes.

My System: Intel 9700K 4.7Gz, ROG Strix Z390-E Gaming, 32 GB Corsair Vengeance 3200MHZ, Evga 3070TI  8GB, Noctua NH-D15S, Gigabyte 27" Monitor, Windows 10 64bit, 2xSamsung 500GB SSD, 1x Samsung 120GB, 1x Samsung 970, 1TB, 1TB H/D for Storage.

Yes, my CPU seems to run about 10 degrees hotter at KMIA as well.  At KMIA, I also have a sheen on the runway that I think simulates standing water that is a frame hog, but I can't find the option to turn it off.  I have the puddle option off in the manager.

Yes -- and for that reason I use LatinVFR KMIA as my "vram test" location.  I figure if I can avoid overcooking VRAM there, I'm good anywhere.

Same here !  🙂

I noticed it as well .KMSY as well as KMIA.

FSDT KORD is nicer and uses about the same VRAM.( sorry Also with DD Chicago bundle)

All of LVFR's sceneries are the worst VRAM hogs. You can email them to get non-PBR versions of FLL, MIA, and MAD. You might still have to use 1024 textures though, which look awful.

Just did a 1 hour flight around Chicago area in the A2A Comanche 250 with sliders one notch from max in 4K/4096 with morning sun and EA on in v5 and it was absolutely amazing with AIG AI-traffic (MAX 25) and road traffic at 14

This is one of my absolute favorite with DD/FSDT combo (and FTX Open LC NA as well )

Wow Chicago has many trains-cargo areas

Thanks everyone!

If you check on the LatinVFR forum, there's a request for testers for a non-PBR version of KMIA with an email address.  If you apply, they are likely to share it with you for feedback.  The non-PBR version looks just as good (the stock is a little too shiny for my taste) and much better for VRAM use.

Mine too. And if you really want to find the limit load it with the Leonardo Maddog. Perfect storm.

KMIA v2?  That was back in the FS9-FSX days, wasn't it?

I had incredibly poor performance with their KBWI, Baltimore.  If I got within  10 NM I started into what would always become a failure.  Latin VFR really needs to up its game in regard to usability.  Carenado perfected eye candy over realism.  Latin VFR seems to have exceeded the limits of both.  Sad, because I fly many of their earlier releases with great admiration.

I assume most of you are talking about P35 because I do not have this issue in P3d4.5?
