They will support other headsets for sure. It is coming to Steam on Day 1! Nevertheless, of course they want to prop up their new VR headset.

Steam availability & VR incoming is excellent news indeed,

now waiting for news of first upcoming helicopter,

then - that’s a definite MSFS $purchase!

I'm kind of miffed that they start VR support with only one specific headset first. Especially since it is not the market leader on PC headsets.

But support for more headsets will come, and as it seems we don't have to wait that long for it.

Can't wait to put on my Rift S and never return to the real world again. 😉

Well, if you read it closely, it says VR support in time for HP Reverb release. I understand that means VR Support in general. Holy Moly!

Disregard. Scroll on...

Grrrrrr

This settles it for whether to upgrade from my Reverb G1 to G2. I was going to wait for the reviews. So I go to the UK pre-order page and see the price has now gone up £100 to £639 with this explanation. I'd not read anything about "pre-order allocations" before.

The limited promotional allocation of stock has now been sold.

Varjo Aero, 5090 FE, i9-12900K, 64GB Ram, RX Viper Rudder Pedals, AuthentiKit Controls + Fulcrum Yoke

As a Rift S owner, I was introduced to the Reverb G2 with the MSFS announcement on VR. Found a couple videos about this headset. I will be pre ordering this headset and super excited about the improvements that it will have over the Rift S. Heres some videos that sold me on this new headset.

 i9-13900K O/C | ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Hero | 32GB DDR5 6000MHz Kingston FURY | RTX 4090 24GB | 2x SSD M.2 (2TB Samsung 990 PRO) 1x SSD (4TB Samsung 870 EVO) | Windows 11 Home | H20: HydroLux PRO:HardLine Tubing| 1000w PSU | Starlink WiFi

Just to avoid confusion the VR Update this Fall (or Autumn where I live!) will be Free for *all* WMR Users, not solely Reverb G2 owners, there was a lot of misquoting from the Press initially but now it's been cleared up Officially that all WMR users will benefit. Other VR users like those with Oculus or SteamVR platforms will follow at a later date.

Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

Managed to pre-order the Reverb G2 on the last day before the price increase. Let's see if the difference is that significant when compared with my Rift S.

I take it you haven't tried the current Reverb v2? I used to own a Rift S and the Samsung Odyssey+ and the Reverb v2 won me over the minute I tried it. The reason is the resolution. The difference is incredible. The new G2 is said to have an even clearer picture and if that is true I agree with the "next generation" tag HP has put on it because the Reverb v2 is already unmatched in terms of resolution among consumer headsets. So if they are actually able to improve it even more in this regard I can't see how any headset would beat that. Of course resolution isn't everything but at least for me it's the most important factor because I think VR headsets need to be good in terms of resolution and clarity first (while not being too hard on performance) before starting to go into FOV, e. g.
