August 2, 20205 yr The ambient noise at the start, I hope that’s part of the sim and not something that was just added to this video. It’s the things like that, that make it so realistic.

And the idea that there would be no tugs available for any of the service agents at Dubai, is bloody ridiculous. Have these people even been to Dubai and seen all the flash gear they have? 'No tug huh? Guess our airline's service agent staff must all have overslept or something. Oh well, I'll just power back with four of these 66,000 lb thrust engines on a FOD-covered ramp before either asking, or being told by anyone what the status is, nor having had it confirmed I'm allowed to start the engines either, on the stand, nor knowing if the aircraft is clear of GSE and clear behind or being certain if all the doors are closed and the jet bridge is retracted and the chocks have been removed. What could possibly go wrong?' Tugs are available at the airport for the 747. He just spawned at the wrong gate 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.

He just spawned at the wrong gate Well I guess that's kind of an excuse, although it doesn't really say much for the airport vehicle AI - last time I was in a tug and checked, it did actually have wheels and an engine so you could drive it to where the plane was. Actually they're kind of fun when they get a bit of speed up, the seats are really bouncy, they're on springs, like the ones in tractors. August 2, 20205 yr Here's a question. Never been on a 747-800, so I've no idea exactly what stuff is on them systems-wise, but do they have cameras which would give you a rear view so you actually could do a power back and have some idea of what was going on behind you? Assuming of course that there was nothing nearby which could be damaged by the jet blast, which I should think would affect a massive area around the thing. August 3, 20205 yr most modern jets have a forward looking camera for the nose wheel and a forward looking tail camera.. dont think any of them have a reverse view.. I actually use the nosewheel camera for parking the plane... GSX is not always accurate in parking me if you dont have the right gsx profile.. and its 747-8i or -8F, not -800.. sorry for being pedantic.. 🙂 Edited August 3, 20205 yr by vin747 Vinod Kumar i9 10900K 5.3 Ghz, RTX 3090, 32GB RAM, Win 11. Personally I think that makes more sense given the preceding nomenclature and Boeing's normal standard for that kind of thing, so I call it the 800. Fun fact on that score name-wise for the 747. Did you know at one point Boeing marketed the 747 as the 'Super Airbus'? That was their name for the 747SR variant. In 1972 they actually painted the prototype B747 which is now preserved at a museum (msn 20235) with the name '747 Super Airbus' on the side of it in huge lettering to promote that name. Here it is in that very paint job: Come to think of it, I might start referring to it as the 747 Super Airbus, just for a laugh. August 3, 20205 yr For those who wish to follow accurate real world procedures and to nip this in the bud now before it becomes folklore, reverse thrust SHOULD NOT be used to power back a 747. I can guarantee this is certainly the case for the 400 series and Although not having flown the -8 , I would be certain this also applies here. As well as the usual inherent problems with power back the 747 would be prone to the nosewheel lifting off the ground when applying brakes while travelling backwards. 787 captain. Well DUH! Anyone knows you don't use the brakes when going backwards, you switch back to forward thrust! 😄 😄 (Yeah, it's a joke.) Hook Larry Hookins Oh! He applied the brakes as gently as he could as he had no engines running but the nose still came up 787 captain. We have the opposite problem in tail draggers, where an overly enthusiastic application of the brakes can cause you to nose over. I haven't actually seen this in the Savage Cub, but the nose will dip in a frightening manner. Back pressure on the stick helps. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! August 3, 20205 yr maybe im not looking in the right places, Maybe the people making the videos are under an NDA so they cant, so maybe someone can help me our here ??? why i cannot find a single video on youtube where is shows somone flying an a/c properly, for example where they have loaded up the FMC/FMGS properly and done a circuit for example. I can find a video of some guy landing on a beach on a 747, I can find a video of a guy taking off from Courchevel and then pausing the sim to show us weather. I can find a video like this one of someone flicking on some buttons and using reversers to do a push back. The sim looks great, and im somewhat excited for the arrival of ms2020,Ive even preordered it. But why are most of the videos of people messing around ? the 747 beach landing for example. Its my first post on this new MS2020 sub forumn, im not trying to be my normal sarcastic self here, im just trying to gauge the complexity of the 747-8 and 320 neo, but cant find a video for love nor money that shows it, just videos of eye candy cheers Edited August 3, 20205 yr by fluffyflops
