I thought you will be telling us how close we are to release? 😉

Also interested in the answer to this. Whilst V5 has been an improvement over 4.5 in some areas, I still feel its 'not quite there'. I've only had 2 or 3 CTD  which I know isn't that bad but it does make me a bit cautious given how stable 4.5 was.  I'm also not convinced that once you load the sim up with addons (as we all do) the performance difference is all that huge over 4.5 - not on my rig anyway. Visually it does look a little better (particularly if EA is on) but performance wise I was hoping for a little more.

I sort of wish we here at a point of stability/performance with P3D where we'd normally see at a .3 or .4 release.....you know...with most of the issues ironed out and some solid sim improvements going on. Unfortunately we're still back in the early cycle of this development and I think a bit of the wind might come out of the sails after 18 Aug. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

You will be satisfied with the performance of P3Dv5 after the release of MFS🙂

I believe LM will skip MFS ahead for the update 5.1

What does this mean?

Gigabyte x670 Aorus Elite AX MB; AMD 7800X3D CPU; Deepcool LT520 AIO Cooler; 64 Gb G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO DDR5 6000; Win11 Pro; P3D V5.4; 1 Samsung 990 2Tb NVMe SSD: 1 Crucial 4Tb MX500 SATA SSD; 1 Samsung 860 1Tb SSD; Gigabyte Aorus Extreme 1080ti 11Gb VRAM; Toshiba 43" LED TV @ 4k; Honeycomb Bravo.

The closer we get to August 18, the more I like P3Dv5!! 😄

Waiting impatiently for 5.1 and the enhanced EA.

LM obviously has a lot of work ahead of them. I'm wondering how much will be improved upon the next point release. It would take a monumental release to take care of all current issues. Maybe October - December would be a more realistic time frame. Anyway I am looking forward to the next point release.

I hope soon and with EA fully operational. While I predict going full time to MSFS, that won't be until most of the big players like FSL and PMDG have all their stuff in it. I'm under no illusion that it will take quite some time until that occurs. Likely a good year I think. So I want P3D v5.1 to get me to that point which will likely be the summer of 2021. Still on v4.5 waiting on 5.1.

I can only speak for myself as a GA-only pilot. I've been using a fully equipped P3D5 and bare-bones MSFS (alpha/beta) for half a year now in parallel and, while both featuring bugs, I find it increasingly harder to return to P3D5.

Without having any insider information, we might be up for a surprise which MSFS addons will be available upon release.

Kind regards, Michael

That is how I see it all going down and I am today removing P3dV4 from my system and going V5 completely. I have reinstalled the A2A Comanche 250. I had forgotten just how good that thing is!! I will continue to watch the MS2020 show unfold but I think it is going to take quite some time to be ready for prime time.

Well, good luck on that prediction and I do hope you are correct and if so then a lot of us will be busy converting to the "Flight Sim of the Gods".🤑

I read into one of Rob As responses to this question a while back where the OP stated 6 months for next point release and Rob seemed to question that..... 5.1 couldn't come soon enough for me as the EA is great but just not good enough for a proper flight on my FDS home cockpit.

Been on the MS 2020 programme from the start and even though I had preordered 2020 it wont be much use to me on release apart from casual gaming around

Even if 5.1 somehow includes a fully fleshed-out EA, it'll take months for HiFi to take advantage of it. It'll continue to be useless in terms of simulating weather, and not just being useful for screenshots.

MSFS has pr scenery + custom AG.

If you compare V5 + TrueSky + TE Great Britain ( eg London Area ) with MSFS what do you think Michael ?

Bing is not that perfect in Europe as it is in the US ( different seasons / area less sharp )
