No I don't "know" but I can guess that you are simply not counting the lovely default aircraft... all 30 of them.

Yeah exactly. My CTRL-E days are long long gone.

Of course i know there are 40,000+ airports, the whole world, weather and even NAVDATA, but if i don't have the proper aircraft to fly in this new world, then i really don't need it. This is why "NOW" is a no-go for me, just that.

That's correct. But that will allow & force me to concentrate on a slightly smaller number of handcrafted airports and aircraft, whilst I can check out videos of the other editions from those who have them to help decide if the upgraded versions are worth it for me.

Got it.  I got sick of watching other people fly FS on YouTube.  Most can't fly and complain of things not working when it's clear they don't know how to use features like the autopilot and autobrakes.  They sit in the cockpit in the jumpseat position way back from the forward panel, refuse to use ATC, and just wing it on departure and approach.  It's crazy.  The GA videos are good but the airliner previews make an already buggy situation ten times worse.  I had to stop watching.

I guess you haven't been reading much FS news.  Aerosoft is porting over everything they can to the new sim in the coming months.  They've actually been working within the new sim for the past year.  FlyTampa, FSDreamteam, and LatinVFR are others to name a few.  The only thing that may be a problem is freeware.  That may be a dead breed in this coming era.  If you can't make an aircraft better than the default don't apply.  It's going to be sad to see that go but I can't imagine that being sustainable as the bar has been raised so much.  Repaints will be around but I can't imagine scenery and aircraft holding on.  That being said most developers are jumping on this train.  I don't know any that aren't and expect to stay in business.  The XPlane guys might have to come over for a few titles.

I am aware of that, that's why i said "now" and "will evaluate". Next week there won't be anything to do with it or no more than what i've been doing with the beta. In the coming months as you said there will be more stuff coming in.

Aerosoft said they they were sold out of the English, Spanish, Italian, Polish and Czech Premium Deluxe

Ryzen 5 5600X - Noctua U12A, 32Gb Vengence, Sapphire Pulse 5700xt, WD Black SN750 NVMe SSD

Maybe next year, dont really see the point of buying now, too expensive, have to wait for a sale.

Having thought about it, I may go down the Steam route as MS Store/Xbox app (Beta) likes to through out the "Administrator Privileges required" nonsense when trying to install a number of games. I've already had to correct that twice to get several games (and the MSFS installer & updates) to install, so Steam looks like an easier bet for me.

I'll not vote in the poll just yet as I'm not 100% decided. With a free Gamepass trial until the end of October, I'm in no rush to purchase.

I'm with you.  I was pretty sure I was going to go with Steam (still am), but it only costs $1.09 to "trial" the standard version for a month.  I'll test it out and see if there are major unforeseen problems on my current system; if not, I'll drop Game Pass after a month and go with the Premium Deluxe version on Steam.

CTRL-E is not required. All aircraft have the proper startup procedures.

You simply do not have any real idea of how 'in depth' the default aircraft actually are.

But hey, you can invest a single dollar ($1) and evaluate the Standard version for an entire month!

Huh?  lol  You must be joking.   PMDG charges $140.00 for 1 airplane.   MS gives you the entire world++++ (investing several millions of $$) and you say it's expensive?  No way.

To answer the poll question I bought the software on MS's site with a game pass.  In the next few months we need to see how this plays out (add-ons release via game pass etc).  I chose Microsoft's site to show support for this effort as they are keeping track on play and usage.  No second guessing how often we use it and it should stick around.

I still don’t know. At this stage,  I lean towards Steam as MS has not impressed me so far by the friendliness of its servers UI and installation process. A she-cat wouldn’t find its kitten. I’ll look into the early adopter feedbacks.

I once bought FSX Gold Edition using MS Games for Windows Live Store in 2013. Guess what?  Not a year later, that store was shut down. (You could still download the game, but I don't know for how long and if it's still possible).

Last year, my hotmail e-mail account got locked for alleged violation of terms, and I can no longer log in and check my e-mails. This problem has been reported by many other users, by the way, and MS is slow to respond. I have read people no longer being able to access their gaming account due to the violations, for instance.

Since then, I have a tendency to avoid buying software at any MS Store. It will be Steam for me...
