Froogle apparently has the release copy. I haven't finished watching it yet but here he is going through the different aircraft...

I think I’m correct that we still have no idea how we can make our own custom liveries. Doesn’t look like there will be an in-game editor. Or have I missed this?

I am also in the Media Group and installed the release last night , making liveries for default aircraft will not be possible, that was something promised at some point in the future , there are some hacks already but its not quite the same as it was for liveries in this format of model.

 

Testing further in anticipation of a report this weekend .

Nice video from Froogle. He's rather changed his tune from last year when he was quite dismissive, as I recall.

Has Froogle mentioned anything about any performance differences between the preview and release builds? Not able to watch at the minute.

With Froogle, that's actually a bonus in some ways. Wasn't he slagging the thing off a year ago?

@Carts85 He didn't mention it but he did remark the absence of a couple errors and bugs in the menus have gone away. I don't know if it was just me but the Hangar sequences with all the aircraft looked absolutely stunning as if further work has gone in to making the graphics sizzlingly good.

Does anyone know if the TBM a Carenado creation? It looks great, just wondering on the extent of its functionality e.g. the avionics - obviously not expecting extreme accuracy considering it's a default aircraft.

Nope, it was made by Asobo. All of the included aeroplanes in the sim were created in-house by Asobo developers.

Does anyone know already what exactly OrbX's role was? I heard some rumblings the are mentioned in the credits.

I really don't see why those of us who pre-ordered shouldn't be able to pre-load the sim today seeing how some people already have the release candidate on their hard drives.  It would certainly help to alleviate server stress on the 18th.  Especially for whose of us with slow ISP's, an early pre-load option would be a huge boon.
