August 17, 20205 yr Tomorrow will be the first release of this amazing piece of software. Afterwards I foresee this forum and other places around the web being crowded with people whining, complaining, bashing and eloquently explaining why some feature is so badly implemented and how it could be done so much better and so on. Keep in mind: It will be as it is everywhere else in life. A small group of people making quite a lot of noise always seems to be much more prominent than it actually is. That sort of feedback will not be representative for the majority of happy flightsimmers that are able to enjoy the beginning of a new era of our beloved hobby despite seeing the room for improvements on this journey and giving valuable feedback. Asobo, Microsoft, at this point I just want to say: thank you for your ongoing passion that you put into this project! Keep at it! It's well appreciated.

August 17, 20205 yr Absolutely. I would suggest anyone who is not thrilled about today, recalls what a depressing place this and every other flight sim forum was on January 26, 2009. That was the day when MS announced that they were wrapping up production of Flight Simulator and binning off the development team. At that time, nobody knew of P3D yet. It was such a barren prospect for civil flight sims that week, Aerosoft even suggested that they were considering jumping into the fray to develop a flight sim. And yeah I know XPlane existed, but we all know how hit and miss that is and at the time it was quite a few versions back from the present one. To say that that was a depressing time is an understatement. But today we have a shiny new Flight Simulator version. It's been over fifteen years since I and most other people had that spring in their step as they walked to their local computer shop to buy a boxed copy of FSX. At that time, it had been a given that every two years or so we'd have that fun experience with a Flight Simulator which progressed and pushed the envelope, and it wasn't until it stopped that we knew what we'd lost. I'm so happy that we've got it back. 😎 Edited August 17, 20205 yr by Chock Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
August 17, 20205 yr Hello Asobo, in a few hours now I will commence my whining. Before that, thank you very much!
August 17, 20205 yr Your post reads very much like the last op-ed in the now defunct Pravda 🤣. Not because you laud the efforts of our "beloved" Party, oops sorry I mean Microsoft, because you cant' tolerate somebody thinking not the way you do. Typical. 22 minutes ago, Weatherman said: A small group of people making quite a lot of noise always seems to be much more prominent than it actually is. August 17, 20205 yr You are so right! Big thanks and hat off for your patience and immense dedication to this project!
August 17, 20205 yr When you fly over Asobo Studios office in Bordeaux, they’ve setup a balloon saying ‘Thank You!’ to us as well as something like ‘Take to the skies’. THANK YOU Asobo and MS for reviving this hobby from the dungeons of endless tweaking.
August 17, 20205 yr if I see any complaint that in particular states "how did feature x or aircraft system Y even pass testing" I can confidently assure that bug is most likely identified but was not fixed in time or that it works as designed within the sim. (the latter is especially true for some avionics) i know many of us flew the cr*p out of this sim in testing stage and spent many long evenings just being chaos monkeys. I wish Asobo best of luck, and they deserve all praise. Clear prop! EASA PPL SEPL + NQ / CB-IR in progress MSFS24 | X-Plane 12
August 17, 20205 yr Thank you MICROSOFT for putting the right people in charge of the new sim! People like Jörg Neumann and the guys at ASOBO. Also thank you for believing in this project and providing them the resources and infrastructure they needed to create something truly innovative in the simming industry! Thank you for your openness towards the community and the marketing strategy without paid subscription. Edited August 17, 20205 yr by tweekz Happy with MSFS 🙂 home simming evolved

I just have to accept that there are a lot of people around who will never learn that seeing room for improvements on something and giving (positive) feedback is best done without whining, bashing and complaining. That's all I am saying beside giving a "thank you" to the authors of an amazing piece of software. Everything beyond that is just your personal conclusion. Edited August 17, 20205 yr by Weatherman

August 17, 20205 yr Commercial Member Thank you Microsoft and Asobo. We will be updating our crew simulation to extend support to the new sim which builds on FSX. And since it's more or less the same platform (with enhanced visuals), we won't take advantage of this event to milk our user base. Free update on the cards for all MCE Ultimate Edition registered users. Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com

For the record, I am French and extremely proud of Asobo and I have been simming with MS most of my life. OK ? And I will keep my freedom to say that I do not like everything they do. I will not be intimidated by any cheerleading mentality. This is a product, not a charity. We pay for it. A seemingly good product. We'll see but I am happy that it exists. Thanking MS and ASobo is a friendly gesture if not excessive. But it has obvious flaws. And we must tell them and not try to shout criticisms down. If somebody says something idiotic, technically wrong we all have to say why it is idiotic or wrong . But a blanket statement like the one I quoted from you is uncalled for.
