Absolutely inevitable. It's human nature. You won't change it. But then its not necessarily a bad thing. That's how we improve. The developers will be observing all of that "whining and complaining" and anything they deem worthy of improving they no doubt will. So in essence, such a response is feedback, and feedback is a good thing, a response that can elicit positive change. 

So don't be too hard on the whiners. They may be doing us a favour. 🙂 Just as those who offer feedback in a more moderate fashion do too.

This is a product, not a charity. We pay for it. A seemingly good product. We'll see but I am happy that it exists. Thanking MS and ASobo  is a friendly gesture if not excessive. But it has obvious flaws. And we must tell them and not try to shout criticisms down. If somebody says something idiotic,  technically wrong we all have to say why it is idiotic or wrong . But a blanket statement like the one I quoted from you is uncalled for. 

Leaving beside your last sentence I fully agree with every single word. That being said I absolutely cannot see any discrepancy between that and what I have said in my original post. This leads me to the question: why you are so upset about it? My post was not directed at you personally, or do you feel like it was?

It's classic gatekeeping that suggests no dissent will be tolerated. No one wants a forum to turn into a hive of negativity, but it's perfectly fine to talk about the good and the bad together.

Hopefully the alpha testers didn't have this type of attitude during the development process!

That's so cool! Merci Asobo, kudos to the entire team, amazing job. Flaws and bugs yes, but credit where credit is due just as well. Simming since decades and it got me into r/w aviation, so I couldn't be more excited for this journey to continue the way it does. Can't wait to share the skies.

Good question. No I don't feel your post directed at me. And even so , I would cope with that  !

Your post actually belongs to a trend of several other posts in the recent weeks saying more or less the same (speaking only around what I quoted from you, not your friendly gesture). The new sim is so good and innovative that any criticism is nitpicking or whining.  Be thankful  ! Shut up and enjoy ! 

Not gonna happen.

We have a lot of newcomers coming and telling them that criticising is nitpicking and whining  does not go into the right direction.  And by right direction I mean

- keeping this forum an open-minded place, and not recreating here the sectarian mentality we see on on other flight simulation forums  with the mob mentality which goes along and brings threads to a close.

- helping Asobo to improve the  sim.

 

 

Grats from me as well. They have some work to do but given time I think we will have a top notch sim on our hands. I look forward to seeing it grow.

Thank you Microsoft and Asobo for reviving this hobby and made it accessible even for wider audience!

Can't wait.  I'll be up at midnight to start the download.  It may not get done Tuesday due to my connection speed, but maybe by Wed I'll have food poisioning and will need to "work from home"

Nah, don't worry. The Alpha guys were the greatest nitpickers of all.

Overall, I would say MSFS and Asobo don't need any kind of organized cheerleading efforts. The sim can stand perfectly fine on its own.

I would also like to personally thank Asobo and Microsoft for doing such a tremendous job on making this the truly next generation flight sim that most of us have been anxiously waiting for! We all share your passion and enthusiasm and hope that we as a flight sim community can work together with you by offering constructive criticism and feedback to make this product shine! Please don't make false statements about what I have written. I have never said that any criticism is nitpicking or whining. What I actually said: Try to criticize without nitpicking and whining. To understand that this is absolutely possible and even more helpful than bashing and whining and that there is a difference between criticism and whining is something that obviously some people here fail completely. If you see criticism as a positive way of feedback and you are able to express that in a positive and valuable way as opposed to many others here, then there is no reason for you to feel as being personally addressed by my post. 🙂

You then declared that "That sort of feedback will not be representative for the majority of happy flightsimmers that are able to enjoy the beginning of a new era of our beloved hobby..."

You are imagining feedback that hasn't happened yet, and declaring it (based on your opinion) to be"not representative".

This forum is already pretty intolerant of dissent, it doesn't need further barriers placed on freedom of expression.

If someone posts something you disagree with, answer them directly online but don't presume to tell the broader simulation community what they should think.

No Rob it would be more a mature objective view of things with different opinions and respect for each other.

Never understood the fighting and ego's about " he I'm right you are so wrong"

If somebody enjoys a piece of software then there is nothing wrong with it, even if we have a different personal preference 😉

 

As for off topic hope you can test it with VR in short term, because this sim is crying for it 🙂
