Kam na mauri,

does anyone have any experience with pausing/interrupting the download (also pausing, exiting the program, shutting down PC and then resuming etc)?

To optimize download speed (didn’t work) I paused, replugged my WiFi antenna into another USB port, resumed and was greeted with a bold red error message saying something unspecific like there was a problem with the download so I started over. Luckily after only the first minute or so.

Also, in the Windows settings I changed the drive for new apps to be installed at. However on that very drive I can’t exactly see where the files are going. Any hint? The free space is decreasing but I can’t see where the stuff goes.

Other than that, let me say e onrake au kaibuke n te rabono.

I'm at 50%, 4 hours left I think

thanks to gamepass I discovered Forza Horizon so I'm having fun with it while waiting

I'm estimating around 35-40 hours for the full download, so I'll probably still be sitting watching the download bar tomorrow, the day after, and maybe a couple more. ☹️

Will definitely be trying out some more games if the simulator does not work on my system. This is the full list if anyone's interested: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-game-pass/games?=pcgames# Quite impressed the library has grown to 198 games.

see I knew that would happen with no preload downloading. Servers getting hammered and DL speeds are back to DSL levels!

Do you get frequently resets of the download, or is the download speed that bad?

I'm not seeing any resetting so far, though perhaps the constant decompression could be slowing down the process further. I guess it's mostly down to speed, I'm downloading at 6,2Mbps now according to the Task Manager. Would love to let it download overnight, but the client is using a lot of CPU (for the decompression I presume) and the heat/noise is getting annoying.

Now that I'm looking at it, it's also maxing out my GPU much of the time. Go figure.

I think it's just my decaying ADSL2+ connection, I can't see the exact download speed but I think it's in line with what I'm usually getting. It's just the sheer amount of data that has to be downloaded causing this long wait. A pre-load would definitely have been appreciated, especially considering that the build appears to be identical to what the content creators were using a few days ago.

G'day mates.  It seems I have developed an Australian accent.  How do you pronounce "downloading now"?

It's all the decompressing of files, uses a lot of CPU cycles.

and Steam didn't even hit yet 🙂

Ryzen 5 5600X - Noctua U12A, 32Gb Vengence, Sapphire Pulse 5700xt, WD Black SN750 NVMe SSD

It's taking forever to download. 11 Gigabytes downloaded after 1,5 hours....

As I suspected the download speeds are horrible even with a 100Gb internet connection.

Imagine the download speeds tomorrow when the rest of the world is downloading after us kiribatians.
