August 18, 20205 yr After a 7 hour download (yes, I purchased the full monty), installation went well and I am finally starting to fly around a bit. The camera thing is a bit of a nightmare, but once you start to get it, it does a lot of nice stuff. I couldn't resist it so I got Orcas by ORBX and after comparing the default to the addon I must say the addon looks terrific in this sim and fits like a glove. This is all very promising and portends for very good things happening down the road with this sim. Lee Edited August 18, 20205 yr by Midnight Music Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
August 18, 20205 yr How is Orcas default Regardless, I am a huge Orbx fan...will buying that airport tonite. I love KORS!!!! How I Evaluate Third Party Sim Addon Developers Refined P3Dv5.0 HF2 Settings Part1 (has MaddogX) and older thread Part 2 (has PMDG 747)
August 18, 20205 yr I bought the UK airports. They’re fine, but i’m not sure if many would think they’re worth it given the large number of good-looking airports in the base sim. Oz Sim Rig: MSI RTX3090 Suprim, an old, partly-melted Intel 9900K @ 5GHz+, Honeycomb Alpha, Thrustmaster TPR Rudder, Warthog HOTAS, Reverb G2, Prosim 737 cockpit. Currently flying: MSFS: PMDG 737-700, Fenix A320, Leonardo MD-82, MIlviz C310, Flysimware C414AW, DC Concorde, Carenado C337. Prepar3d v5: PMDG 737/747/777. August 18, 20205 yr Yes KORS (ORBX) is great and it is reduced in price when you have it for P3D and order it via ORBX directly. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).

Orcas was one of the first airfields I went to in FS2020, but I wasn't too impressed with the default. Seeing that I already owned Orcas for FSX/P3D, therefore getting a 40% discount for FS2020 version, it was a no-brainer for me. The ORBX Orcas looks so much better, but I did notice slightly less detail further out, for example there is a quarry on a mountainside which in the FSX/P3D version is nicely modelled, but in FS2020 it is the blurry default i7-12700KF, RTX 3080 12GB, 64GB DDR4 3600MHz, ASUS PG348Q 34" ultra-wide monitor, Track IR 5, HP Reverb G2, Windows 10 64-bit
August 18, 20205 yr Thanks for the first impressions. I’m going to pick it up too as it’s quite cheap with the previous owner discount. How did you do it? when I tried to purchase London city airport in the market place it just went to purchase pending and did nothing.

Not sure how Oz did it, but I bought mine through Orbx Central, since I also have it running for P3D. Central recognizes MSFS and handles the install and allows you to create a library or install directly into the "Community" folder in the MSFS folder. Flightbeam also has a new manager utility for MSFS and can be installed from outside the marketplace. 5800X3D | Radeon RX 6900XT

Ah, i purchased through orbx central. As a kiribatian, i may have been orbx’s first customer, i bought both uk airports before the sim was released in most countries! orbx central is also cheaper, particularly if you’re eligible for a crossgrade discount. Still building ortho for that other sim, or has MSFS distracted you from the “cover the world with ortho” project? Right now I'm 7zipping ortho off one of my SSDs so that I can have some more space and try moving my rolling cache off the same SSD as the sim. 5800X3D | Radeon RX 6900XT

December 20, 20205 yr With the Xmas sale, and @Bert Pieke's endorsement, I bought @OrbxSim's KORS... and was having a lovely time flying @robert young's G36 TNB between Tacoma Narrows and here... but on short final there were NO Orcas??? Is that a WIP? Anyone with info? Ta- C Edited December 20, 20205 yr by cavaricooper Best- Carl Avari-Cooper
December 20, 20205 yr Orbx is a tad slow in migrating/redoing their old sceneries for MSFS2020. Yes they have done some like LOWI, KORS, London, Darrington, concrete... But I am waiting for their KBVS and Pago Pago etc.. IChop chop Orbx! 🙂 Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
