Back to Xp11 :-)

Featured Replies

MFS, among other emotions, brought to me the urge to re-install and enjoy XP11, now 11.50, and I am glad I did so...

Am I saying with this I didn't like MFS ?  Certainly not !

I like it, very much, but certainly not enough to eclipse the much I also like X-plane after all...

XP11.50 with Vulkan runs happily in my old rig, gives me flight dynamics wise certainly not an inferior experience to what MFS provides, and I think it'll stay that way, with both platforms always trying to fine tune their FDMs.

Looking fwd for the updates to Experimental FM Austin mentioned in one of the recent LR videos.

P.S.: Only stuff I really don't like with being both Steam installs is that they're a bit griddy, and whenever I uninstall them I know they're still there 😕 Bummer !

Never uninstalled it in the first place.

I fly mostly ortho with overlays and commercial areas same.  I love my suite of planes and the realism is superb.  I just now picked up the update for Vancouver YVR, its amazing.

I get the MS2020 gaa, gaa, goo, goo over the visual presentation, but flying low and slow over some city areas, the bridges are solid, some vegetation is solid and looks weird, buildings are lidar quality and out of focus so if one looks with a critical eye one soon can say ok I'm over the initial excitement now back to some sharp quality scenery with great planes.

I bought a nice SS coffee cup for a friend, Gold she wanted. Was all nice till she put it into teh Dish washer, all the lovely gold has gone, not so pretty any more. That other fs is just like that. I did say once teh gloss wears off...

I think there will be many returns to XP. At least for the next year, until the new SIM improves. If this happens  😉 .

yep. Xp11 certainly have better plane right now. It's just very hard to go back knowing what you are missing on the other side.

Hi Jose! Long time no see! 😀
If you are returning for X-Plane 11 maybe you want to look into this:

I believe it is special aerodrome for you as it for me! 😉

I left x-plane on my pc when installing msfs just incase. Haven't used it since though but it's there when I need it!

I mean I'm an X-Plane 11 fan and this is my main sim - but what do you expect in the first week after the SIM is released?
Where was XP11 in the first week and the P3D ?
It's been a few years since XP11 was released - I mean who thinks that MSFS can beat that from day one is ridiculous - what are we talking about here ?
But XP11 still doesn't have a reasonable weather representation, water etc. etc., one could argue (don't talk about the basic simulation now).
I, in turn, like X-Plane, but my current VFR flights are in MSFS, and I enjoy them very much, but of course everybody as he likes, that's clear !
cheers !

Correction: Back to *only* XP11

I'm glad I have been away for so long - it does look like another sim fluidity wise... 11.50 runs WOW in my old rig that strived to run MFS. I was used to run IL2 Battle of Stalingrad here, and that did run great too, but last time I had installed XP11 it was still on the 11.4x series.

Glad to have you back (if only for a short time 😂) - I even threw a new airport in for you (London Heathrow) 😉.

Hey jcomm,

have you seen Austin's newest video on his YouTube channel?

Might be of interest for you and anyone interested in aviation and X-Plane.

And look for his comments below the video, too. 😉

Seems like they have something real nice cooking for us!

Thx Macpah, and yes I had seen it already.

Familiar with this type of Apps since Meteo and Aviation Meteo is directly connected to my daily activities when not uninstalling sims :-)

I just wish he finds some nice inspiration to bring it to future cycles of X-Plane ;-)

Austin gone wild in comments:

"Dont worry! We're already working on that and much much more... we just havent announced it yet... and... you might be looking at the real weather system for the next version of x plane right now, hidden in plain sight while being tested in the air..... ;-)"

regarding better scenery etc..

"It's all already happening.. we're just not going to ANNOUNCE it in the middle of the MS hysteria. Let people try MSFS... nothing wrong with that at all... we'll announce what we have been building in secret for some time now when the time is right"
